HP BladeSystem c7000

The BladeSystem c7000 HP chassis 10U high contains up to 16 dual-processor or 8 four-processor servers with all necessary infrastructure of a power supply, cooling and also 8 switching modules:

• Fibre Channel switches,
• Ethernet,
• Infiniband

Main Characteristics

• existence of two form factors — full-size blade servers (to 8 in one shelf), blade servers of half height (to 16 in one shelf) and Storage-blade (to 90 in one shelf);

• up to 6 power supplies with hot swap at the power of 2250 W;

• management of BladeSystem Insight Display and/or module of management Onboard Administrator.

• The simplified management and control, now with Intelligent Power Discovery technology.
• Consolidation first of all – the BladeSystem c7000 Enclosure HP body is intended not only for a blade servers. It allows to integrate servers, storage systems, network resources and means of a power supply so that they functioned as single solution.
• Absolute control - Means of Onboard Administrator, iLO and a packet of HP of Insight Control allow to manage effectively servers and to control a status of the operating system of the server.
• The software of HP of Insight Control allows to automate conventional processes, giving to employees of IT department an opportunity to solve business problems, but not to spend time for routine support.
• At combination of the new module HP Single Phase AC Intelligent Power Module with distribution frames of a power supply of HP Intelligent and HP Common Slot Platinum the Intelligent Power Discovery function automatically detects servers, distributes the power source and checks existence of back supply.
• Automatic detection and comparison in combination with Insight Control technology accelerate setup, reduce quantity of possible errors and prevent idle times.

Switching modules

• the Ethernet switches (Gigabit and 10 GB of Ethernet) and FC (4 GB of Fiber Channel) — favourite brands of switches for consolidation of cables;

• switch 4x DDR InfiniBand providing the highest speed of IB;

• modules a patch panels in need of connection 1:1 between the server and network;

• Virtual Connect (unique modules of virtualization of input-output) representing the simplest and most powerful tool of connection to external networks;

• 2 modules of management Onboard Administrator (one such module — it is standard).

Eight switching compartments allow:

• provide up to 4 redundant factories of input-output;

• use Ethernet, the Fibre Channel, iSCSI and InfiniBand;

• reduce use of quantity of cables to 94%.

Use of blade-infrastructure of HP BladeSystem s7000 means by default the high level of fault tolerance due to duplication of components.

A power supply of BladeSystem can be implemented according to scheme n+n or n+1, excess fans of the cooling system are used, all switching modules are installed by pairs, all used server adapters of input-output — two-port.
