According to the results of the open competition announced by the Federal Customs Service of Russia, the IT company acquired the right to execution of works on migration of domain structure of a uniform directory service of the uniform automated information system (UAIS) for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and migration of departmental e-mail on Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.

  • increase in information security at the expense of new opportunities of software products, and failure from use of the software products removed from support
  • consolidation of the differing regional mail systems in a single departmental system of e-mail of customs authorities

Project Progress

At the time of the beginning of works management of information infrastructure of FCS of Russia was connected with certain difficulties. The domain structure of a uniform directory service of EAIS was constructed on the basis of Microsoft Windows Server 2003, did not include recently created divisions of FCS of Russia. The separation of resources and use of the outdated version of the operating system complicated process of administration and led to emergency situations. The departmental e-mail constructed on Microsoft Exchange 2003 had a number of restrictions − because of architectural features of the platform it was impossible to create the disaster-proof solution, an outdated 32-bit system worked slowly and with regular idle times. The server hardware and the software morally also became physically outdated, it led to the failures resulting in impossibility of work with e-mail.

Specialists of IT performed works in all territorial subjects of the Russian Federation: translated 371 domain controllers under management of Windows Server 2008 R2, having ensured failsafe and disaster-proof functioning of a directory service − from the level of managements to the level of customs posts. During migration of departmental postal service FCS of Russia the number of mail servers is increased by Exchange Server 2010 up to 126, the fault tolerance of e-mail in regional customs authorities and disaster tolerance in central office of FCS of Russia is provided. Training more than for 200 system administrators according to the results of which specialists of information and technical services of FCS of Russia could accept both updated systems in operation was provided and manage competently them.
