ST Analytics. OLAP - the tool for fast processing of large volumes of information based on technology an OLAP cube (On-Line Analytical Processing).

The solution is created by System Technologies company as additional service to the software package "ST Chicago".

The specialized solution for business of distribution for April 10, 2015 allows a combination more than 200 indicators and to consider processes of mobile trade in any cuts at any detail level.

Data source for an analytical system is the ST Chicago database. From it information is unloaded in Storage of Analytics. During data transfer process from one DB in another the quality of data increases (incorrect quantities, the prices, etc. clean up)

The solution at a stage of data loading considers possible combinations of different categories. For example, the amount of shipments on quarters, half-year and years is in advance counted and is stored cubed. At the moment of a request of these data the user, she is not found every time, and just read from a disk. Therefore, regardless of that how many was primary data — hundreds of millions of lines or only one thousand — the result of a request will always form during one period of time.

If the value which was not prepared by a system in advance is requested, then the server processes data, using the made calculations that accelerates process.

The structure of OLAP base is adapted to fast selection of large volume of data. The normal base (OLTP — OnLine Transactional Processing) is ground under processing of business transactions: for example, creation of the new document or change of an element of the reference book. Creation of the analytical report in a normal DB, by even one indicator, borrows 10 times more time.

The OLAP cube presents all data in the form of "measurements" — analytical cuts (outlets, goods, date, etc.) and metrics (the amount of shipments, the number of visits, etc.). From hundreds of possible measurements about 20 are demanded by business — for analytics of "field" data and creation of the reporting of it enough. At each measurement there is a set of additional attributes. For example, goods have not only a name, but also the qualifier: brand, category, subcategory. The set of characteristics at outlets, at distributors, at warehouses. In total more than 214 indicators in 13 groups and 24 measurements with 223 attributes.

The form for the user is convenient and clear, all filters are designated in business terms and there is no need to consider a technical component of a request.
