Softline implemented Autodesk Vault in Etalon Group

April 28, 2015. The Softline company announced end of the first stage of system implementation of management of design data based on the solution Autodesk Vault Professional in Etalon Group. Works assumed start in trial operation of the prototype of future system adapted for unique tasks of the project organization entering into Group - Etalonproyekt LLC.

Tasks

The decision on system implementation of management of design data based on the solution Autodesk Vault Professional in Etalonproyekt was made on the basis of results of the pilot testing held by Softline company. At the initial stage of the project the tasks of ensuring management of the large volume of data and reduction of quantity of the errors arising at design of construction objects were set for specialists of Softline company. Besides, it was required to create the automated system of document flow satisfying to the customer's requests and also to debug the procedure of data storage and exchange of them between employees. Integration of a system with main systems of automated design (CAD) and office solutions used in the company had to become one more important point of program implementation.

Project Progress

Specialists of Softline developed the engineering design of automation which formed the basis of the solution on management of design data in Etalonproyekt. During system implementation the server framework was prepared and installation images of client places for deployment in pilot group are adapted. Before system deployment all its participants were trained in a webinar format that allowed to save the video record for repetition and training of new employees.

The decision on transfer of a system to trial operation was made on the basis of tests of a system which were held by forces of IT department and services of the customer of Etalon Group and also representatives of design institute.

Result

According to the results of project implementation the schedule of employee involvement of the company in work with a system which provides all stages of its further development, including tasks of updating and acquisition of licenses, purchase of the necessary equipment and integration into corporate information systems (CIS) was developed.

"During project implementation we had some concerns as designers first associated Autodesk Vault with the instrument of strict control. Besides, system learning demanded from them additional efforts and time expenditure.
