May 26, 2015. The Finnish system integrator Tieto and the Russian consulting company Novardis announced end of the joint project on implementation of the set-up solution Novardis Retail based on SAP for Retail for retail network Prisma in Russia, at present the solution is replicated to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
For ensuring competitive advantages and formation of a common information space in the company the project on replacement of an old information system by the modern solution of Novardis Retail based on SAP for Retail is implemented.
Choosing a Solution
The choice for benefit of Novardis Retail was caused by broad functionality of a system taking into account specifics of the Russian business and the powerful technical characteristics meeting requirements of retail chain stores of Prisma. Project duration was 11 months.
Project Progress
Within the project such processes as management of an organization structure, purchases (including import), movements of goods, Push/Pull distributions, wholesale and retail sales, replenishment action planning, assortment management and the prices, inventory, management of promotion actions and also a production process are automated. In a system reporting on turnover of alcoholic and alcohol-containing products according to requirements of Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation (RAR) is implemented. Besides, integration of a new ERP system with data collection terminals, an accounting financial system, POS-and the WMS systems, also integration on EDI with suppliers is performed.
Result
In a project deliverable all shops of retail chain stores Prisma in Russia (7 hypermarkets and 12 supermarkets) switched to the solution Novardis Retail. The moment in a system works at flowing about 200 users, representatives of the company integrator reported TAdviser.
"Earlier in the company a self-written system which did not allow to change and scale business processes flexibly was used. Novardis Retail gives the chance due to centralization to increase quality of management and to automate the main business processes of retail chain stores, – Marita Koskinen, the CEO of Prisma comments. – Despite not the so considerable term of work on a new solution, we already receive results regarding reduction of labor costs on management of the prices, the range and promotion actions. The purpose on the near future is transfer of planning of replenishment action based on MRP in the automatic mode after optimization of settings based on pilot operation of this functionality".

Use of methodology of maintaining projects of TIETO allowed to execute the project by forces of geographically dispersed teams of consultants in Russia, the Czech Republic, Finland and India, to provide effective communication and to finish the project at the scheduled time. It reduced implementation cost for Prisma, and early involvement of remote Competence Centers of Tieto helped to accelerate and simplify transition from the project to support of a system", – Mika Pitkanen, the program manager of projects of Tieto says.
