API Gateway supports API hybrids which represent a chain of the integrated API calls. It is possible to make changes to interfaces in the hot mode, without suspension of the server and idle times in service. 1996: webMethods exit

The webMethods platform was issued in 1996. She thought as a possibility of interaction of separate software products in real time (by means of HTTP and XML). Afterwards technologies such were called web services. XML-RPC and WIDL (Web Interface Definition Language; language of the description of web interfaces), created on the webMethods platform, laid the foundation for SOAP and WSDL (Web Services Description Language; web services description language).
