Damate Group upgraded IT infrastructure in a private cloud

On June 17, 2015 Softline announced project completion of creation of private "cloud" on the Microsoft platform in Damate Group.

Project Tasks

In 2014 within the accepted IT strategy, before directorate of IT of group there was a problem of integration of geographically distributed platforms of Damate Group into a single corporate network.

It was required to construct DPC, to organize private "cloud", to create the general domain for users, to unroll the mail system of the corporate level. The project it was necessary to execute so that not to cause inconveniences and a problem for the staff of Damate Group:

• not limit work of its divisions,
• not stop operating activities of the enterprises,
• not allow idle time in production work, order taking, etc.

By the beginning of the project the IT systems and servers, the IT engineers, often duplicative each other acted on each platform, there were features in settings of the equipment and different rules of work of employees.

All this complicated management process, did each case of the address to technical specialists "unique", reduced quality of providing IT services and increased troubleshooting time.

Damate Group asked for the help in creation of infrastructure in Softline company. IT specialists Damat considered several candidate solutions, but recognized use of the virtualization platform and management tools on the basis of Microsoft in data center the most reasonable, in terms of the cost and efficiency as all offered products optimum interact with each other.

Project Progress

Specialists of Softline picked up the equipment - a server cluster of HP of ProLiant DL380p Gen8.

Nine production and office locations in three business directions fell within the scope of the project. On each of them specialists of department of solutions of Microsoft connected physical servers and unrolled sets of eight virtual based on Windows Server 2012.

It provided distribution of services and autonomy of each platform in case of refusal of external communication channels.

Engineers of the contractor configured a number of services and components:

• Active Directory directory service,
• corporate mail on the Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 platform,
• Remote Desktop Services for remote access to desktops.

The database server is created with use DBMS Microsoft SQL Server.

Part of services provided fault tolerance due to own characteristics, others – by means of technology of replication Hyper-V.

The solution architecture means independence of domain controllers of each platform, and at failure any of systems addresses to DPC in Moscow. It the risk of idle times in work of critical applications decreases.

In addition the DirectAccess function is implemented - the technology provides to mobile users secure remote access to corporate resources (the general and local) without need to be connected to VPN.

Project Results

As a result of project implementation Damate Group received modern IT infrastructure, high standards of IT security, transparency.

For all employees transition took place imperceptibly, the deployed services simplify work and save time.

We created a new IT landscape of the customer, consolidated platforms in the uniform domain based on the Active Directory, migrated users and services, unrolled new useful services, such as Exchange and DirectAccess. All work was based according to the best practices of Microsoft that guarantees stability and fault tolerance of work of systems and also the high level of performance".
