Microsoft Hyper-V is implemented in AK BARS bank

June 18, 2015. JSC AK BARS announced Bank optimization of infrastructure of workstations using technologies Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows To Go, Windows 2012 R2 and Remote Desktop Services.

Choosing a Solution

The bank renders more than 100 types of banking services and services more than 2.9 million individuals and over 62,000 corporate clients. IT infrastructure of bank was separate in this connection costs for its service grew. To solve a problem, the management "AK BARS" of Bank made the decision on transition to virtual model of Microsoft.

Project Progress

The project started at the beginning of 2013 and was implemented within 11 months. During implementation several pilot versions of infrastructure of VDI, the most effective of which was a system on a stack of technology Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows 2012 R2 and Windows To Go, were started. The target infrastructure determined by results of testing was implemented by forces of three employees of Department of Information Technologies of JSC AK BARS Bank. Failure from purchase of the additional hardware and software became important competitive advantage of the solution, infrastructure was created on the basis of the park of devices which was available in the company.

Result

The project allowed the company to cut down significantly expenses on their service and to replace "classical" workstations on thin clients. Besides, the project helped to organize infrastructure of access to applications, centralized, convenient for all employees of the bank, that considerably reduced operational risks, especially at remote offices of the company. Thanks to Windows To Go technology and infrastructure solutions of Microsoft it was succeeded to avoid purchase of additional licenses and devices and also to considerably reduce terms of implementation and project cost, representatives of the company integrator reported TAdviser.
