2018: IGS-6416XSFP-12V

On August 6, 2018 the ARMO-Systems company announced that to a line of network equipment of Lantech company there were 16-port managed layer 2 switches + the IGS-6416XSFP-12V series which differ in high performance and are calculated for creation of IP infrastructure of security systems on industrial facilities. Switches have dimensions of 74x135x152 mm, weight of 900 g, a class of protection against dust and IP30 moisture and are installed on a DIN rail.

According to the developer, the high performance of IGS-6416XSFP-12V/Ethernet is reached at the expense of the powerful processor and high capacity of the device which makes 112 Gbps. At the same time the switch can be involved in networks with different topology, including ring and chained, and gives an opportunity of configuring of a single ring in the automatic mode. Thanks to compliance to ITU G.8032 v2/2012 standard, the switch supports algorithms of multi-address protection of a single ring, and, in case of failure, activates selfrecovery process which occupies on average no more than 20 ms.

Combination of switch ports — 16 gigabit and 4 slots for SFP+ — allows to distribute rather flexibly video, audio and other information flows depending on technical requirements to video surveillance systems, the security/fire warning and automated control systems for the building. So, using SFP+ of transceivers and cables of category 6/6A or 7, this Ethernet switch allows to implement reliable network functioning at data transfer rate to 10 Gbps on different distances without relaying. For example, for the Lantech 8330-200-E transceiver this indicator can reach 20 km, and with Lantech 8330-202-E — 40 km, reported in Lantech.

The developer noted that the complex of the built-in security aids allows IGS-6416XSFP to guarantee protection of an Ethernet network against internal and external threats. So, for carrying out setup and serviceability check of the switch it is possible to set up to 10 IP addresses from which these procedures will be resolved. For authentications users in the IGS-6416XSFP system supports TACACS+, for the organization of safe communication - cryptographic protocols SSL/SSH, and secure access to the web interface is provided through HTTPS. Also, the switch allows to configure the table of the MAC addresses and the access control list Ingress/Egress ACL L2/L3.

Intuitive setup and management of IGS-6416XSFP can be implemented through SNMP and Web interfaces, Telnet and CLI. It is possible to configure the Ethernet switch using software of InstaView of Lantech company which interface includes graphical representation, "demo" of network topology and outputs notifications about failures. As the instrument of automatic search of the equipment in IGS-6416XSFP network uses the network protocol CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol), and for automatic appointment to it the IP addresses — the LLDP protocol (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) which will provide inheritance of the set device configuration at its replacement, the developer noted.

The possibility of segmentation of a local network and creation of the tagged virtual subnets of VLAN in compliance with regulations of IEEE 802.1Q, allows IGS-6416XSFP-12V to increase reliability of a system. The switch uses different mechanisms of management of VLAN, supports information transfer about VLAN from one device on another – GVRP, etc. Also, he uses algorithms of priority processing of QoS and CoS with 8 levels of a priority for port and also protocols of an exception of the closed routes of Spanning Tree, Rapid and Multiple ST, and static readdressing of multi-address mailing on ports for the application of video surveillance.

The Lantech IGS-6416XSFP-12V switches came to the Russian market and they can be purchased at the retail price of 2,100 USD.[1]

2015: IGS-5816-2P

The company Lantech released switches the IGS-5816-2P series which are equipped with 8 ports 10/100/1000T and 16 slots for connection to transmission lines based on optical fiber. New products have capacity of 48 Gbps and systems video surveillances on industrial facilities ensure failsafe functioning of high-speed network, for example. Each optical multiplexer of the provided series is supplied with LED status lights of ports, supports technologies of online registration and elimination of possible failures and faults, uses the advanced network protocols for reliable work and also applies all fixed assets of management, including SNMP Telnet, CLI, DHCP-server.

Simple and fast installation of several Lantech devices including IGS-5816-2P, is provided with support of export of a configuration to the separate file with a possibility of its editing. Besides, the optical multiplexer has the user-friendly graphical interface, allows to browse network topology and to use the corporate software of Lantech InstaView for management of the functions and monitoring of network and also InstaConfig for carrying out upgrade. The optic instrument through RS-232 COM port is configured, and its remote configuring and control is exercised via the web browser, SNMP v1, v2c, v3, Telnet or from the command line (CLI).

Lantech IGS-5816-2P has 8 gigabit ports 10/100/1000T (RJ-45) and 16 of 2-speed 100M/1000M Mini-GBIC/SFP of the slots intended for connection of switches of the bottom level to it via optical Mini-GBIC 1000SX/LX/XD/ZX transceivers. Due to support of technology of self-matching on each gigabit port (Auto-MDI/MDI-X) the optical multiplexer independently defines type of the connected cable and selects the connection speed (10, 100 or 1000 Mbps), and via transceivers provides data transmission on communication fiber lines on distances from 100 m to 120 km without intermediate gain.

Capacity of 48 Gbps allows to apply IGS-5816-2P to creation of high-speed networks. Besides, this switch can be used for creation of networks with difficult topology, for example, the "ring" or "chain" type, and according to ITU G.8032 provides recovery of network after failures to 20 ms. At the same time, the optical multiplexer supports the automatic mode of configuring of a single ring, uses protocols of RSTP/MSTP for the organization of an alternative channel of communication, function of protection against failure of a node and different methods of the notification on failures of the optic instrument, including Email and the SMS notification.

Economical use of resources of network is performed by IGS-5816-2P using the advanced network technologies and functions. So, for example, data security, transferred on communication fiber lines, the systems of access and authentication SSH/ provide SSL, ACL (Access Control List), identifications 802.1x/RADIUS and also IP-MAC-Port-binding. For formation of high-speed link of data transmission the optical multiplexer uses function of trunk consolidation of ports for the LACP protocol with creation to 8 trunk groups with 24 participants in everyone. Besides, this switch supports a multicasting, IGMP-Query/Snooping, QoS, CoS and allows to create virtual subnets (VLAN).

Smooth and highly reliable operation of the switch is ensured by variety of technologies of control of its working capacity, including the Watchdog technology monitoring loading of the processor, and Environmental Monitoring registering critical values of working temperature and tension. Along with it, the optical multiplexer has the DIDO function and relay contact for activation of a system of the disturbing notification. Moreover, allows to trace indicators of optical power/input power, temperature and tension on the IGS-5816-2P transceiver on the DDM monitor which is connected to it via the DMI interface.
