"The Russian Appetite" completed audit of license compliance of program assets

On July 16, 2015 the Softline company announced project completion of the analysis of license compliance of the software of Microsoft set in Russky appetit Group.

Project Tasks

The initiative of the project directed to identification of problem areas of licensing of the software of Microsoft is caused by absence in the company of exact understanding of number of the PC and servers, need of assessment of scales of additional purchases of software. There was a requirement of increase in efficiency of accounting of contracts and costs planning on further licensing, to update data on current contracts, to exclude possible legal and financial risks of use of server and client licenses of access to servers.

As the partner of the Russian Appetite project selected Softline company.

Project plans of SAM:

• it was supposed to estimate a current status of contracts for the software of Microsoft;
• optimize its use;
• reveal the actual number of relevant licenses, the exact number of the used software of vendor;
• analyze an IT infrastructure status,
• estimate possible legal and license risks.

Project Progress

During the project specialists of the contractor carried out inventory of workstations and Windows servers of the customer, analyzed documents of title according to the software of Microsoft. On the basis of data retrieveds verification of license compliance is carried out.

Project Results

According to the results of audit "The Russian appetite" got experience of inventory of licenses, recommendations about optimal licensing taking into account specifics of IT infrastructure and also on decrease in legal and financial risks. Specialists of Softline company helped the customer to create a number of regulating documents on distribution and fixing of licenses to devices.
