Uniastrum Bank replaced program system of protection of users against external threats

On August 4, 2015 the Softline company announced completion of the implementing solutions Websense in IT infrastructure of Uniastrum Bank.

The bank aims at expansion of a range of the used information technologies and web services - both in own business processes, and at partner interaction and clients. Such approach is integrated to risks of growth of number of channels of information leak. The flexible instrument of access control is necessary for IT specialists of Uniastrum Bank for employees according to their roles. The cybersecurity system detecting threats until their approach was required.

Earlier for these purposes the bank used the solution Forefront TMG providing basic needs of the customer, but in connection with the expected termination of support of this product from vendor, there was a question of migration on other product.

Main requirements: functionality of the solution on protection of users of external threats, on an URL categorization, simplicity of transition to its use. After market research of products for preventive cybersecurity protection and in the presence the staff of Uniastrum Bank of operating experience has Websense systems in other organizations, made the decision on the choice of this tool. IT specialists were involved by reliability of a system, convenience of operation and simplicity of implementation.

Solutions of Websense are created on the platform of the innovative technology ThreatSeeker providing preventive protection against web threats, closing security spaces at the set anti-virus solutions and firewalls. ThreatSeeker weekly scans more than 600 million websites and detects threats on the Internet before clients undergo risk, providing protection even before release of patches and anti-virus signatures.

Involved experts and technical specialists of Softline company in selection process of a system - they held pilot testing in the minimum terms.

Project Results

Project deliverables and operation of a system allowed IT and cybersecurity specialists of bank to be positive for the solution and correctness of its work in the organization. The pilot project was considered successful and a system was recommended for use at all offices of bank.

For August 4, 2015 the employee of financial institution gets Internet access only by means of Websense. Using the multivector scanning device the program in the online mode analyzes network traffic, will recognize the new websites, their changing contents, finds zones cybersecurity of risk and blocks malware and codes.

"The solution Websense allowed us to give to employees an opportunity of Internet connection flexibly. The convenient categorization allows to narrow a circle of Internet resources to really necessary in work. There is a function allowing to provide to bank clerks access to some resources limited on time. For example, to devote no more than 30 minutes a day to social networks or the entertaining websites. Or to provide to heads data on access for employees to Network. So a cybersecurity system solved not only technology, but also some HR tasks", - Sergey Galitskov, the director of maintenance of IT of Uniastrum Bank noted.
