VNIIKHOLODMASH-Holding completed implementation of PLM

On August 5, 2015 it became known of an implementation project of a product lifecycle management system in VNIIKHOLODMASH-Holding company. The project is executed with assistance of ProjectCom company (Proyektk)^[1].

Project Tasks

The company management made the decision on implementation of new standards of product development at the level of global manufacturers. With respect thereto there was a question of need of creation of a PLM system. Besides, work in different development tools of engineering documentation created difficulties at data exchange between divisions. In the company the decision on system implementation of product lifecycle management - Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) was made.

Before start of implementation of PLM in all company, the pilot project on implementation of Autodesk Vault and Inventor at design of the offshore refrigeration unit which came to the end a year ago is carried out. The pilot project lasted two months and the created system is during this time tested. After project completion the management made the decision on implementation of PLM in all engineering divisions of the company. For support and development of a system the division of management of engineering data was created.

Project Progress

For August 5, 2015 are implemented and the majority of the PLM components are used:

• engineering document flow and electronic archive,
• different design, settlement and technology systems.

The project is executed on the platform of software solutions Autodesk Vault Autodesk Inventor Autodesk AutoCAD, OpenModelica and the Octopus of TP. With the help Autodesk Inventor specialists of institute create a digital prototype of a product, i.e. the intellectual three-dimensional model having a set of physics and technology properties. Engineering electronic document management (Autodesk Vault) gives the chance to group of designers jointly to conduct development of a 3D model of a product, allowing to manage changes.

Project Results

On a permanent basis in the company is trained specialists to the software entering PLM. In I and II quarters 2015 60 employees of institute were trained. It occurred directly in workplaces, on the example of production tasks and processes. Due to the big load of engineering specialists the company corrected a training technique, reducing time of rates and increasing terms of technical support in workplaces at direct product development that the trained designers were positive for.
