"The Russian space systems" and Rostelecom agreed about creation of GIS

On August 26, 2015 JSC RKS companies and PJSC Rostelecom announced signing of the contract on cooperation regarding development and promotion of geoinformatsionno-analytical products for corporate, state and private consumers^[1].

Project Tasks

Implementing the agreement Rostelecom is going to provide services of telecommunication and computing infrastructure for collecting, storages and processings of the space data including received from spacecrafts of the remote sensing of Earth (RSE) of the Russian orbital grouping, to expand possibilities of the geoinformation services offered corporate and state clients. The parties also agreed about use of the extensive network of sales channels and marketing, experience of sales which is available for Rostelecom and support of information and analytical products for promotion of new developments on the market.

TSUP OF RKS, 2013

RKS makes use of the practices and experience with the data obtained from spacecrafts of the remote sensing of Earth (RSE) for creation of the geoinformatsionno-analytical systems, joint with Rostelecom, and services for use in rural, forest, water management, other spheres.

Andrey Tyulin, the CEO of "The Russian space systems", told: "RKS develops DZZ technologies and works on expansion of opportunities of their effective use in different social and economic spheres. On behalf of Rostelecom we receive the reliable partner with considerable market opportunities and necessary experience for creation and promotion of the latest geographic information systems on the broad market".

The national operator of orbital grouping of spacecrafts of remote sensing of Earth - Scientific center of operational monitoring of Earth of "The Russian space systems". It manages the DZZ satellites and obtains from them information in the form of high-detailed pictures of a surface of the planet in different ranges and in different permission.

For August 26, 2015 NTs OMZ uses seven Russian satellites for obtaining monitoring information:

• "Meteor-M" No. 1 and No. 2,
• "Kanopus-V",
• "Resource recreation center",
• "Resource-P" No. 1, No. 2,
• Electro-l No. 1,
• International Space Station (ISS).
