On August 27, 2015 Tele2 announced lease of communication channels at PJSC Rostelecom at construction of network in Moscow and the Moscow region.
Project Tasks
The parties signed the service provision agreement of virtual private networks on the basis of data networks of Rostelecom.

Within the agreement Rostelecom will provide to Tele2 digital allocated channels in the territory of Moscow and the Moscow region. The service is provided on the basis of the transport network of Rostelecom created using modern IP/MPLS and MicroWave technologies, using the equipment of leading manufacturers.
The organization of communication services on the basis of virtual private networks provides the high speed and security of data transmission in 3G networks and 4G. Ensuring the quality standards will regulate agreement on the service level (SLA).
Project Progress
Tele2 company completed the construction of network of aggregation and continues works on creation of a transport network. Weekly the operator creates more than hundred base stations in the capital region. For August 28, 2015 Tele2 provided a territory covering where more than 70% of the population of the capital and 55% − Moscow area, including the largest cities live:
- Odintsovo,
- Podolsk,
- Khimki,
- Mytishchi,
- Railway,
- Lyubertsy,
- Vidnoye,
- Reutov,
- Queens,
- Dolgoprudny,
- Krasnogorsk.
Project Results
Ritvars Kriyevs, the technical director of Tele2, noted: "Rostelecom has unique infrastructure opportunities and provides the high level of service that in combination with profitable rates makes him by the ideal partner for Tele2. Reliability − one of key requirements which Tele2 imposes to network. We attach to this question paramount significance and intend to continue development of Tele2 network in Moscow and the Moscow region, including renting communication channels at Rostelecom".
Alexander Abramkov, the vice president – the director of macroregional branch "Moscow" of PJSC Rostelecom, said: "Fully to realize the potential of mobile data transmission of 3G networks/4G which are built by Tele2 it is necessary to connect base stations on high-speed fiber lines of communication. The IP/MPLS network of Rostelecom in Moscow has total length over 11 thousand kilometers of fiber-optic communication line and covers more than 30 thousand buildings. Therefore our company can organize connection practically in any point necessary for partners from Tele2. The multiservice network conforms to all modern requirements for reliability and provides the set service quality (QoS)".
