SK "Soglasie" transferred DBMS to Oracle Exadata

On September 2, 2015 the Jet Infosystems company announced the project in Soglasie insurance company: transfer of the ERP systems databases on the optimized hardware and software system Oracle Exadata is executed.

Project Progress

Testing of the platform, optimization of the DB size, migration are executed in 1.5 months. From the moment of implementation the total amount of the processed data increased from 800 GB up to 1.800 TB, and the number of sessions in peak hours increased from 1 up to 2 thousand, at the same time runtime of requests was reduced in some cases by 10 times.

"Transition to the new platform was connected with plans for centralization of the accounting systems of the company and providing a common information space for the staff of branches. The operating platform could not provide scaling of processor capacities for processing of the growing information volumes, – Sergey Klochkov, the director of the department of IT of SK "Soglasie" told. – Jointly with specialists Jet Infosystems we selected the platform of an optimal configuration which allowed to reach qualitatively new performance measures, even in spite of the fact that growth of amounts of data exceeded our initial expectations".

Comprehensive examination and performance review of several platforms are carried out under characteristic loading of the main productive system of SK "Soglasie". The hardware and software system Oracle Exadata is as a result selected.

Project Results

The platform is integrated with the available IT landscape. The procedure of migration with change of the operating system is carefully tested then all bases are transferred to a status of a production load. For each of stages plans of return to an initial status are thought in advance over. The most critical database is brought to a cluster, free resources of a hardware and software system are selected under development environments and testings.
