2015: Announcement of fifth generation of Oracle Engineered Systems
On January 21, 2015 the Oracle company officially announced the next generation of the optimized hardware and software systems Oracle Engineered Systems. According to developers, new integrated solutions not only exceed competitors on ensuring performance of the crucial systems, but also cost much cheaper.[1]
The hardware range of Oracle was filled up by fifth generation (X5) of family of convergent solutions for the data centers including servers, storage systems, network equipment and the software. The updated complexes are already available to clients of the American producer Virtual Compute Appliance Database Appliance, Big Data Appliance and Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance.
Oracle Database Appliance X5, the solution for fast deployment of Oracle Database in a failsafe configuration, received technology server a flash caching, support of architecture of InfiniBand, the increased number of computing cores and the increased volume of disk storages.

Oracle declared pricing war of EMC and Cisco
The compatibility with the latest version of the solution Oracle Big Data SQL thanks to what users will be able to create one fast SQL query covering all data without making changes in the application became a key innovation of the product Big Data Appliance X5 intended for processing of large volumes of the structured and unstructured data.
Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance X5 (provides data protection and scalability of a backup system of databases) offers more powerful processors and 30 percent increase in capacity in one rack.
Telling about the Virtual Compute Appliance X5 complex intended for deployment of the equipment and the virtualized applications, the founder and the technical director of Oracle Larry Ellison noted that the solution with 27 two-socket (chips Intel of Xeon) servers is available to clients for $562 thousand against $912 thousand which a similar convergent system from the company costs VCE (joint venture Cisco and EMC). Virtual Compute Appliance X5 will be able to work together with new Oracle FS1 flash storage system.
In addition to a 50 percent prize in cost in comparison with competitors, new integrated solutions are capable to ask infrastructure for 70% and to unroll applications 7 times faster, than earlier.
At the time of the announcement of fifth generation of Oracle Engineered Systems these hardware and software systems of corporation were released in number of more than 10 thousand pieces worldwide.
