Gazprom will pay nearly 2.7 billion rubles for maintenance of IBM

2016: Maintenance of the equipment and maintenance of software of IBM for 2.7 billion rubles

In December, 2016 Gazprom inform, subsidiary company of Gazprom, placed on the portal of state procurements information on purchase with the only service provider on maintenance of the equipment and support of the software of IBM company for the total amount of 2.694 billion rubles.[1]

According to documentation to purchase, works on the agreement should be performed during the period from December 28, 2016 to September 30, 2019.

The equipment list which service the contractor of the contract should provide includes different servers, DWH and SAN IBM placed on two platforms of the Moscow DPC. In the list, in particular, servers IBM System z10, IBM eServer z890, IBM Power p595, IBM System x3650 and other are specified. Among DWH N6040 tape libraries IBM TotalStorage DS8100 and Magstar Tape Subsystem IBM 3310 and also other systems are mentioned by IBM System Storage DS8300 and.

In addition from the contractor maintenance of specialized software of IBM is required: the software of IBM for the Power Systems servers (AIX, VIOS, PowerVM, etc.), the solutions IBM Network Advisor Enterprise Edition, IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center Standard Edition, IBM Tivoli Monitoring and other.

On December 29, 2016 the agreement according to which it became known that the Gazprom avtomatizatsiya company became the only service provider was published.

2015: Contract with IBM for 1.8 billion rubles

In September, 2015 Gazprom through Gazprom inform subsidiary company signed contracts with IBM as with the only supplier for the total amount about 1.8 billion rubles.

The largest contract[2] – for the amount of 1.15 billion rubles – is concluded on rendering maintenance services of software and to maintenance of the equipment. The list of services includes IT infrastructure availability control, expanded availability control of the hardware of IT infrastructure, including 24/7 hardware maintenance.

The expanded availability control of a program part of IT infrastructure meaning among other, updates of programs and service in performance management and remote support of installation, use and configuring of software goes separate point.

Total amount of the contracts signed by Gazprom with IBM is about 1.8 billion rubles.

The second contract[3] – for the amount about 625 million rubles – provides maintenance services (a subscription and support) of the software of IBM. In this case IBM and Gazprom inform signed the international agreement on service of programs (International Agreement for Software Maintenance) for the benefit of Gazprom. The contract covers programs for IBM System Z and a number of other software, including a set of the IBM Tivoli programs for information resource management.

The third contract[4] is signed on services in expanded support of software of IBM among which such products as IBM zOmegamon, IBM File Manager, IBM Fault Analyzer, IBM Debug Tool, the IBM Tivoli program, etc. Its volume is about 23 million rubles.

2014: Contract with IBM for 715 million rubles

In 2014 Gazprom inform signed the large contract[5] with IBM on rendering services and execution of works on maintenance of the equipment and support of the software of IBM and other producers. Contract amount was 715 million rubles. On issues of cooperation neither in Gazprom inform, nor at the Russian office IBM TAdviser did not comment.

It should be noted that in 2014 IBM headed for the conclusion of direct contracts with big customers. So, for example, the vendor signed contracts for the amount about 3 billion rubles with Sberbank.

Gazprom and IBM discussed cooperation within informatization strategy implementation several years ago, in 2012. At one of meetings with participation of top managers of Gazprom and IBM went about creation of system and technical infrastructure of data processing centers of Gazprom and that necessary conditions for effective use of advanced technologies is service support and training of specialists of Gazprom.
