As Otto Group took out infrastructure from Germany to Russia

On October 20, 2015 the IBS company announced project completion on transfer of corporate systems and data of Direkt Service Directory company (OTTO, WITT, bonprix brands) to Russia from abroad.

Project Tasks

The corporate information system on the SAP platform in the Russian division of Otto Group - one of the most important elements of IT architecture of the company, it provides the basic operational business processes according to corporate rules of automation and standards. Till 2015 the information system was placed at server capacities in Germany. Increase in foreign exchange rate affected payments of a hosting of a corporate information system price - the prices increased. The company made the decision on transfer of information systems on the Russian platform for cost reduction and leaving from dependence of rate fluctuations of currencies.

Transfer of the systems of SAP on other platform was charged to specialists of the Service center IBS for support of business applications.

Project Progress

The contractor proposed the companies "Direkt Katalog Service" the finished complete solution with complete responsibility for the end result – reliable and smooth operation of the postponed corporate applications. As a part of the solution support of computing powers in the managed cloud of provider IBS Datafort, works on migration of systems and maintenance of systems.

Transfer of systems including data preparation, infrastructures, setup of systems for a hosting site, data transfer, recovery of integration with the adjacent systems and switching of users took about a month. All preparatory work is carried out imperceptibly for users, unavailability was minimum according to requirements to business continuity. After completion of migration all users of SAP continued work without the need for additional settings.

Having completed data transfer, IBS continued support of the Otto Group Russia systems. All IT services are to the customer in the mode of "one window" the Service center IBS for support of business applications.

Project Results

In a project deliverable high-speed performance of systems increased, the client's costs for a hosting of applications considerably decreased. The configuration conforms to requirements of the legislation for personal data protection.
