Center of technologies of the electronic government of the ITMO University

The center of technologies of the electronic government is created in St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Optics Mechanics (ITMO University) in May, 2009 for the purpose of concentration of the intellectual and organizational resources necessary for the solution of relevant problems of creation and distribution of effective solutions of the electronic government and methods of electronic control. The center is a part of Faculty of technology management and innovations of the ITMO University.

The mission of the Center is rendering complex support to projects of creation of the electronic government in the Russian Federation necessary for achievement of goals, formulated in the Development strategy of information society and the Concept of formation in the Russian Federation of the electronic government on the basis of the approved conducting scientific and analytical, innovation and implementation and educational activity in this sphere.

The main objectives of the Center – establishment and maintenance of strategic partnership with the organizations – the leading participants of development processes and implementations of technologies of the electronic government at the federal and regional levels, formation of information environment and bank of knowledge of the Center, preparation and promotion of projects of the Center in federal and regional programs, development and implementation of educational and educational programs in the field of technologies of the electronic government, holding methodical seminars and an annual All-Russian scientific and practical conference "The electronic government: theory and practice".

The basis of capacity of the Center is formed by employees and partners of the regional, federal and international projects implemented within the FTP Electronic Russia, the programs of Administrative reform, regional and municipal programs, projects of the European Union Tasis, etc. which already have successful experience of the organization and execution.

In the activity the Center relies on partnership and cooperation with the leading educational and research structures: The national research university – Higher School of Economics (Higher School of Economics National Research University), the St. Petersburg institute of information science and automation of RAS (SPIIRAN), etc. The center attaches great value to participation in partner networks and expert public organizations: Partnership for development of information society in the Northwest of Russia (NP PRIOR Severo-Zapad), the Russian Agency of Development of Information Society (RADIS).

Activity of the Center is performed within the innovation complex of the ITMO University that creates the potential for effective interaction with business, in particular, of creation of Competence Centers of developer companies of solutions in the field of the electronic government.

Priority task of TsTEP of the ITMO University is creation and development of the scientific and methodical resource center for issues of development of the electronic government and public administration. An important component of the resource center is the digital library of scientific and scientific and methodical publications on scope of development of the electronic government and information society.

Maintenance of relevant information resources is a basis for the analysis and development of highly effective innovative technological and organizational solutions in this area.
