From where the FMS of Russia has a selected VPN network

On November 5, 2015 the Ministry of Communications and mass communications of the Russian Federation announced completion of works in the project on creation of the selected segment of the single network of data transmission (SNDT) for Federal Migration Service (FMS of Russia).

Project Tasks

Work should be performed within order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1240 of November 24, 2014 according to which the single network of data transmission for authorities is created.

Project Progress

The data network for FMS of Russia is created on technology of a private virtual network (IP VPN).

The Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation together with PJSC Rostelecom organized network. According to representatives of federal agency, it will allow to increase fault tolerance and security at data transmission, quality of the provided telecommunication services. As a result of creation of ESPD FMS of Russia availability of state services to citizens and the organizations will increase, the efficiency of expenditure of budgetary funds will increase.

Within the project the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation together with PJSC Rostelecom organized the protected connection of a private virtual network of FMS of Russia with the system of interdepartmental electronic interaction (SIEI) without use of the Internet. It increased reliability and fault tolerance of IT services of FMS of Russia in interdepartmental interaction when rendering public services in electronic form.

As a part of a segment of ESPD about 3.5 thousand territorial points of Federal Migration Service over the country, a number of information systems of FMS of Russia, among them:

• departmental segment of FMS of Russia of the state system of passport and visa documents of new generation (GS PVD of NP)
• state information system of migration registration (SISMR).
