Mega-contracts: SAP sells to Rosneft of the license, technical support and Oracle DBMS

On November 17, 2015 Rosneft announced four purchases at the only supplier on acquisition of rights to use of a SAP software and services in its support with a total amount of 1.559 billion rubles.

^[1], for the amount of 704.9 million rubles, is a subject of the largest of them rendering maintenance services of the SAP Product Support for Large Enterprises level. The list of products which are required to be supported in the tender documentation is not specified, however follows from it that it is about support of products which Rosneft purchased under several agreements in 2000-2004. The contract is expected a year. In the same place it is said that after this term it will last supplementary agreements, and the cost of annual support is calculated as 17% of the determined basic sum of 3.5 billion rubles.

Among software which buys Rosneft from SAP, is registered as Oracle DBMS

The second^[2] – for the amount of 402.4 million rubles – will be signed on acquisition of rights to use of a SAP software. In the tender documentation it is specified that this continuation of implementation of the agreement signed in 2000, the meaning increase in volume of rights to use of a SAP software. It is about buying of use of a SAP software of Business Suite, SAP HANA, SAP Payroll Processing, SAP Treasury and Risk Management and some other products. It is remarkable that in the software list on which the rights are acquired also Oracle DBMS is specified. In the agreement its price is designated as 19% of the total cost of the purchased SAP software, 64 million rubles.

One more purchase^[3], for the amount of 80.7 million rubles, assumes support of a SAP software in connection with expansion of volume of its use. According to the tender documentation, the amount of support is defined as 17% a year of the value of the rights of use of software. As well as in the previous tender, the contract is expected a year and will last further supplementary agreements.

The fourth^[4] - for the amount of 371.4 million rubles - assumes recovery of maintenance of a SAP software which supported by SAP CIS earlier, and maintenance of the SAP Product Support for Large Enterprises level. It is remarkable that the term of resuming of support is specified backdating – since July 1, 2015. The duration of the contract is designated December, 2015.

Services include providing packets of support (packets of corrections), providing advanced functionality and/or an innovation for versions of key SAP applications of Business Suite 7, providing access to the managed self service features as a part of SAP Solution Manager of the version of Enterprise.
