As Finprombank unrolled DWH

On November 10, 2015 the IBS company announced the project of deployment by request of FPB bank of a backup system on the basis of the equipment of Dell and the software of CommVault.

Project Tasks

FPB Bank made the decision to update a backup system due to the need to provide the increased reliability of information storage in all banking information systems. Earlier different systems were supported by several separate solutions on backup that complicated support and development of these systems and reduced reliability of IT infrastructure in general.

Selecting technology, in FPB Bank considered a number of offers from several integrators and vendors. The IBS company proposed to bank the complete solution on the platform of the server hardware, storage system of Dell and the software of CommVault as optimal for the customer's tasks - in terms of the cost and functionality. Showing quality of the solution specialists of integrator executed in pilot implementation for testing of functionality in actual practice of FPB of Bank. Based on "pilot" the customer made the final decision on implementation.

Project Progress

Process of installation took about a month during which engineers of IBS solved a number of questions on integration of software of CommVault into the customer's IT infrastructure constructed on the Windows Server platform.

Project Results

The bank received a single system of backup for all IT systems. Level of reservation of information is completely provided, became simpler backup process support. Due to centralization of this function, more than twice the efficiency of use of disk space increased. Time necessary for backup was reduced approximately five times.

"We consider that new single solution for backup which we unrolled together with IBS allows us to use more effectively resources of our data center and also, certainly, increases security of our information systems. The pilot implementation which is carried out during the project allowed us to be convinced in practice of reliability and high-speed performance of the proposed solution", – Dmitry Medvedev, the vice president for FPB technologies of Bank said.
