November 24, 2015. The Center of written and musical heritage of Institute of language, literature and art (IYaLI) of G. Ibragimov of Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan began to digitize documents on A1B Planskan ELAR planetary scanner.
"The Planskan ELAR scanner of A1B is purchased by institute first of all for the purpose of preserving of unique heritage using the translation of important documents in an electronic form", - the manager of the Center, Candidate of Philology, Ilham Gumerov tells. – We already began to scan old printed materials on the new equipment". According to Ilham Gusmanovich, digital copies of documents are created both for internal use by the staff of institute, and for more wide range of researchers and specialists. "We are going to create an electronic resource on the Internet where these documents will be submitted in open access. Besides, in our plans to provide virtual access to the periodical press of the head of the XX century which we also expect to scan", - Ilham Gumerov noted.
"The scanner is the device absolutely safe for valuable originals, - the head of representative office of ELAR corporation in the Republic of Tatarstan Damir Salikhov comments. – ELAR Planskan A1B is equipped with the automated book cradle with adjustment of panels on height for originals up to 10 cm thick weighing up to 10 kg and the fixed angles of disclosure by 140 or 180 degrees that allows to scan qualitatively stitched documents having a tough back or a dense stitching without causing damage by it. The unique system of illumination constructed on special LED lighters also does not harm valuable materials when scanning".
