ELAR Planskan – book (other name – planetary) the scanners intended for digitization of documents of a different format and thickness, any books and folders, the old or damaged documents, large-format originals to A1 format and also allow to digitize the glaring originals, including design tracing-papers, coins, the laminated documents or with metal stamping.

Series C Planskan ELAR scanner

The Planskan ELAR scanner of series C is the scanner executed as absolutely independent device which is not requiring the managing workstation: setup of parameters of scanning and processing is performed by means of the firm ware, the result of digitization is continuously displayed on the built-in monitor, and the received images or on the flashes cards or hard drives connected to USB ports remain, or are transferred to network via Gigabit Ethernet interface.

The Planskan ELAR scanner From the 3 series

The configuration of the scanner is intended for creation of electronic copies of large book editions. This model of the scanner is equipped with the unique book cradle allowing to digitize the stitched originals up to 50 cm thick and up to 50 kg both with clamping glass and with its fixing in provision of 90 degrees. The equipment supports all modes of automatic start of scanning: when lowering clamping glass, at a revolution of the sheet of the book, on the set interval. The cradle is developed taking into account requirements to ergonomics and has a rigid load-carrying structure.

It should be noted, the unique technological solutions used during creation of a book cradle are applicable to all lineup of the Planskan scanners From the 3 series.

The equipment is already used for digitization of unique documents of the Russian state archive of ancient acts.

The scanner for books of ELAR Planskan of the A2B series

The scanner for books of ELAR Planskan of the A2B series is intended for contactless (color, gray-scale, black-and-white) digitizations of books, magazines and directories, newspapers, different fastened documents, the shabby and non-standard sewed materials, including with the dense back which is not allowing to open the document more than by 120 degrees. A possibility of scanning of documents to the A2+ format and also translucent originals, glossy documents. The unique optical system provides high quality of the received electronic images at any status of the original. Does not require direct connection to the computer, allowing to save graphic images in network or on the USB carrier. All management from the convenient color touchpad with the graphic menu in Russian with a possibility of creation of the individual user interface. Print preview of the scanned image on built-in 18' the monitor.

Possibilities of A2B Planskan ELAR scanner allow to configure the interface of the touchpad of management so that, in addition to control functions by scanning, with its help it was possible to execute input of index information directly from the scanner and also to send data directly to archive. For this purpose the Russian-speaking user interface with a possibility of setup of a search card of the document is provided in a system.

Careful scanning

The contactless method of scanning completely excludes mechanical impact on the original, guaranteeing its safety.

The book cradle with changeable slope angle 120 or 180 of degrees allows to digitize qualitatively the thick books and the stitched documents having a tough back or a dense stitching without causing damage to the original.

The unique reprosistema of illumination using special LED lighters (LED) carefully lights originals with the moving light band and also allows to scan the glaring documents.

Built-in image processing

The optical system of 3D scanning with the laser sensor reliably corrects geometrical distortions of a turn of the book.

When scanning in the black-and-white mode the scanner for books of ELAR Planskan of A2B provides dynamic binarization of the image with the maximum preserving of parts of the document, including pencil sketches.

A broad set of program functions provides professional image processing: a corrective turn, removal of "noise", a scrap on a format, turn on / counterclockwise or specularly, scaling of images, correction of brightness, contrast and color shades.

The add-on software module of management of color ICC profiles provides an exact color rendition at the subsequent use of images for a reprography and copying. Designers of the publishing systems receive the professional instrument of work with images.

Remote diagnostics and management

ELAR Planskan of the A2B series is supplied with the unique Scan2Net system allowing to use it as the network device with the Gigabit Ethernet interface. With its help remote control of the scanner is exercised that allows to save the scanned images on any computer which is available in network and also to carry out remote diagnostics, setup and updating Planskan of the A2B series by service divisions.

The possibility of installation of additional Wi-Fi of the module allows to exercise control of the scanner from tablet Apple iPad devices or working running Android OS, but also to save images directly on these devices. It is enough to download and install the free managing program on the tablet computer. It is useful in libraries as people will use not originals, but their copies, for the engineering services which are often using at a distance from office of the scheme and drawings, etc.

Reliability and profitability

The metal body of the scanner with the fixed provision of all constituent elements ensures reliable functioning of the device during long-term intensive operation.

2015: ELAR improved the planetary scanner

On August 4, 2015 ELAR corporation announced development of construction of clamping glass for A2B Planskan ELAR planetary scanners. The advanced module is intended for digitization of the sewed documents which cannot be opened completely without risk of mechanical damage of a back.

At digitization of paper arrays the stitched documents in rare instances met the text, closely adjacent to the center of a turn. Density of a back of such originals did not allow to execute scanning of completely opened turn, and in the center the scan image there was small shadowing. Engineers of ELAR developed the new version of V-shaped clamping glass increasing area of useful space for scanning for elimination of this feature.

"Former construction represented two glass blocks which when embedding in the module of a clip connected at the edges. New construction of the optical block of a monolitn. For its implementation seamless docking of faltsovanny edges of glasses with the subsequent fixing by special glue structure is carried out. Thanks to such construction we reduced a shadow zone", - Igor Mikaelyan, the head of department of products of Management of providing and technical support of the equipment of ELAR told.

The corporation suggested the clients using A2B Planskan ELAR planetary scanner to make replacement only of a glass part of the module of a clip without change of its main construction that will cost cheaper, than acquisition of the module assembled.
