2015: Announcement of PowerApps

On November 30, 2015 Microsoft announced PowerApps service through which the companies will be able to create corporate applications for smartphones and tablets without writing of a program code. The software giant calculates that this project will generate it one billion dollars of additional revenue.

PowerApps is represented by the ordinary designer of the applications capable to work at any mobile platforms. Microsoft notes that by the principle of user interaction new service is similar to Microsoft Office applications. To create the full program from scratch, it is not necessary to have skills of programming: it is enough to select a template and to configure work of the project in the mode of graphic editing.

The applications created through PowerApps can obtain data from different cloud services, including Office 365 Dynamics CRM Salesforce.com, Dropbox and OneDrive and also from local sources SharePoint, it seems, SQL Server and databases Oracle SAP , etc. The link on developed by software can be sent quickly to the staff of the company by e-mail in order that they began work in the application.

In the environment of PowerApps it is possible to create programs for the different organizations and enterprises: banks, recruiting agencies, retail, etc. Software is compatible to gadgets based on iOS, Windows and Android. The possibility of development of any number of products which can use as is wished people is available to each subscriber of PowerApps.

At the time of the announcement of PowerApps this service is available free of charge to everyone. In future Microsoft will not levy a payment only from users of trial version in which the quantity connected by SaaS services is limited by two. The unlimited number of cloud data sources is implemented within a subscription of Standard which price will be known later.

Besides, the corporate tariff plan is provided (Enterprise; its cost is also not sounded), differing opportunity to use local data, the event log and the Azure App Service environment (focused on developers service for creation mobile and web applications) and also to manage API functions, access rights and security settings.^[1]

In April, 2015 announced  the ZDNet edition that Microsoft prepares PowerApps, referring to mentioning of this product in the description to one of vacancies on the website of the American company. Then it was noted that Microsoft estimates this business more than at $1 billion.
