Microsoft Azure App Service is tool kit in the form of a cloud service for development mobile and web applications, complemented with means for business process automation. He also acts as service for creation and use of the application programming interfaces (API).

On March 25, 2015 Microsoft announced Azure App Service. In the blog of Microsoft it is noted that this solution: "... will integrate Microsoft Azure Websites, Mobile Services and Biztalk Services in uniform service for a hosting of applications with dynamically expanded environment allowing to simplify integration with popular consumer and commercial services at the affordable price"[1].

Components will be a part of Azure App Service:

  • Web Apps — earlier known as Azure Websites, provides a broad set of opportunities, including support of frameworks of .NET, Java, PHP, Python, etc.; a full support of DevOps and its continuous interaction with Visual Studio Online, GitHub, Bitbucket, etc. Web Apps will offer the enterprises a connectivity to existing applications and services in the mode onpremis and Active Directory integration, guaranteeing backward compatibility and safety of data;

  • Mobile Apps is tool kit and native means of support for mobile platforms Windows, iOS and Android in the form of multiplatform working environments like Xamarin or Cordova. Service simplifies to developers interaction with users by means of instant messages, provides means of authentication at providers, including Active Directory and also the cloud storage of data with a possibility of offline synchronization;

  • Logic Apps is the automation equipment intended for the processing and data flow control arriving from commercial and user services on API in the mode onpremis. Logic Apps also include an expanded set of the Azure BizTalk tools for integration of local business applications with services like SQL Server or PeopleSoft.

The purpose of creation of Azure App Service is in that, the company stated to offer developers a unified environment for creation of corporate or consumer applications. The complex cross-platform interface and management tools external API is for this purpose provided.
