Why Hardvud Trading transferred IT infrastructure to a cloud

On November 22, 2015 the Softline company announced project implementation on migration of corporate services of Hardvud Trading company in a cloud.

Project Tasks

The company needed to optimize the operating IT infrastructure for cost reduction on its service and the organizations of a single system of access for employees to corporate services. As the partner Softline which specialists have all necessary competences for implementation of such projects was selected.

Software solutions and products 1C, corporate mail and file storage were placed on physical servers at the Moscow office "Hardvud Trading". After carrying out inspection of IT infrastructure by specialists of Softline company it was offered to transfer them to the cloud services located in its own data center.

Project Progress

At the first stage of the project virtual infrastructure for transfer of software solutions and products 1C was created. As the customer used hardware keys 1C, for reduction of forced idle time of service for migration in data center specialists of Softline received keys in the evening and performed necessary works in the period of the smallest user load on a system. Along with it file servers migrated in new storage.

After that it was required to transfer e-mail of the customer from resources of third-party provider and to create uniform corporate service. Specialists of Softline it was offered to use the Microsoft Exchange Online service entering into Office 365. Among advantages – low cost in comparison with a dedicated server for start of a mail service, lack of need of data backup, the built-in antispam filter and an antivirus, a user-friendly interface, and 50 GB of an empty seat for each user.

To provide uniform secure access of personnel to applications (e-mail, the office suite, data of 1C) from any device from any place in the world, in a cloud of Softline the terminal server was unrolled, remote jobs with an authentication system are configured.

Project Results

In a project deliverable the corporate applications "Hardvud Trading" are moved to cloud infrastructure and reliably protected.

Sergey Frolov, the specialist in planning of Hardvud Trading company, reported:

"Two weeks later after start of the project we received the ready-made cloud solution meeting all delivered requirements. Service migration allowed to reduce significantly finance costs by the maintenance of IT infrastructure, and harmonious work of specialists at its carrying out allowed users of a message work in the usual mode. Today our Moscow office successfully uses the provided services, and further we are going to transfer elements of IT infrastructure of other regional representative offices to a cloud".

Maxim Lemeshko, the sales manager of Softline company, said:

"Placement of corporate services in a cloud allowed the customer to increase availability of applications to users, to increase fault tolerance of IT infrastructure, to optimize costs for its service. The important role in security was played by functionality of integration of Office 365 with local AD that gave an opportunity to use uniform authorization and also storage of passwords and user names in the territory of the Russian Federation. At the moment specialists of Softline perform the round-the-clock incidental technical support and assist in administration of IT systems".
