Content

On November 30, 2015 the Croc company announced creation of 3D laboratory - visualization and computer graphics in the MIEM Higher School of Economics National Research University educational and administrative complex.

Project Tasks

The purpose of creation of laboratory — using technologies of virtual reality to increase quality of training of the students designing difficult radio-electronic devices. Virtual prototyping is widely applied by engineers around the world to reduction of terms of development of models of devices.

Project Progress

Within development of one of the directions of preparation the university attracted CROC company to creation of 3D laboratory - visualization and computer grafikiv in an educational complex. The project is executed rapidly — 4 months.

Project Results

At practical seminars students are engaged in development of virtual prototypes of functional diagrams of radio-electronic nodes, devices and devices (from the body of the radio-electronic equipment to multilevel integrated microcircuits). Possibilities of laboratory allow the lecturer to visualize these prototypes, to change their scale, to decompose on separate components. It helps to sort visually the mistakes made by students at design.

Three walls of laboratory which are technology prepared for demonstration of volume content serve as the uniform screen. Virtual prototypes Thanks to technology of a soft stitching are brought to it using the projectors set in ceiling niches content from 4 independent sources integrates in an integral space image.

Immersion in virtual environment provides the supercomputer with graphic processors and special glasses. In laboratory no more than 15 students can be engaged at the same time.

The management system for a hardware-software complex of educational laboratory 3D - visualization and computer graphics is simple, convenient for work and does not require continued support of IT specialists. Management and control of all technical means, including start of the preset scenarios of setup and synchronization of the equipment, is performed on a centralized basis, by means of the standard tablet PC. The employee of laboratory can load the software into several clicks, prepare the multimedia equipment for work, configure a sound and make changes to settings of systems and services.

Andrey Abrameshin, the associate director of MIEM Higher School of Economics National Research University, noted:

- Now students of Higher School of Economics National Research University perform research works, applying virtual prototyping. We thank a command of CROC for competent technology examination and the help in project implementation on creation of laboratory which fully meets our expectations.

Specialists of the contractor equipped 41 training rooms of the MIEM Higher School of Economics National Research University body with the energy efficient projection and multimedia equipment, modern sound reinforcement systems.

Alexey Volkov, the deputy CEO, the head of audiovisual complexes of CROC company, said:

- In the new academic building all necessary conditions are created to make educational process even more interactive, interesting and as result, fruitful for students.
