PCD2.Mxx60 is a line of controllers for automation systems and scheduling.

On December 1, 2015 the Saia-Burgess Controls AG company (SBC) announced release and availability in pilot projects of PCD2.M4x60 systems[1].

Using the upgraded processor of model of PCD2 controllers have the increased performance. Form factor: the PCD2.M4160 mainframe supports up to 4 modules of input-output, and PCD2.M4560 models - up to 8, with a possibility of expansion in total to 1023 points of input-output.

A system will be available in two versions:

  • PCD2.M4160 is compact, inexpensive basic model with support to 64 inputs and outputs in small applications.
  • PCD2.M4560 - the top model of high performance, with a possibility of expansion to 1023 I/O, with resources of memory and power of the processor for implementation of average and large applications.

Main objectives of creation of controllers

PCD2 family should purchase performance of PCD3 platform (Mxx60). It will make PCD2 more powerful and universal choice and also will simplify and unifies maintenance of systems.

PCD2.M21x0 models have two slots for connection of modules of input-output. Thereof, they are not suitable replacement for all applications connected with old PCD1.M1xx. From 4-slot PCD2 it can easily be made.

PCS1 systems reached the end of the lifecycle. Their production will be stopped at the end of 2016.

Some lines of PCD2.M4x60 system:

  • flat technological design of the body (same sizes as PCD2.C1000);
  • four slots for modules of local input-output, with a possibility of expansion to 1024 I/O;
  • the battery is not required - the FRAM technology is used. PCD of media (R/F/C/DB/TXT) are stored in non-volatile in the way without accumulator now;
  • up to 14 communication interfaces;
  • sufficient power of the processor for resource-intensive tasks.

The management system is suitable for use, as in infrastructure and for automation of buildings, and in the field of mechanical engineering.
