Hilti Distribution completed implementation of GIS

On December 3, 2015 the Hilti company announced the choice of the solution GIS Optimum as a system for automation of the delivery service in the territory of Russia.

Project Tasks

The customer uses hired vehicles for the product delivery to clients across the territory of the Russian Federation.

The project of automation is directed to transfer of a number of processes of execution, distribution of delivery and return of the equipment to service, control of cargo flows, under control of the company.

For implementation of this project group CDC proposed the complete solution on the OPTIMUM platform consisting of a dedicated server, own cartographic service based on the Open Street Map cards, the web application for managers, mobile application for delivery drivers, the protected Samsung Galaxy Tab Active tablets and expanded technical support.

Dmitry Kravchenko, the head of deliveries of Hilti Distribution LTD Ltd, noted:

- Programs of planning of delivery and monitoring of transport and also the mobile application for automation of work of the forwarding agent entering the GIS Optimum complex provide all necessary requirements of the company in the field of transport logistics in the territory of several areas.

One of the factors which had an impact on the choice of a system - development of additional functionality by group CDC for the automatic notification of clients about change of planned delivery time by means of Sms.

The technological solution GIS Optimum will help logisticians of the customer to plan routes and to control transportation of goods in the Moscow, Sverdlovsk, Rostov, Novosibirsk regions, Khabarovsk Krai from the uniform dispatching center.

Project Results

On October 17, 2016 the Hilti company announced implementation in the Russian representative office geoinformation sistemf GIS Optimum.

Hilti uses hired motor transport in Russia and transfer under control of the company of a number of management processes, distributions of delivery and tracking of cargo flows became the purpose of automation.

The first stage of implementation is completed in May, 2016. The GIS OPTIMUM system provided to Hilti full control over process of delivery due to planning of routes for drivers and satellite monitoring of vehicles.

Logisticians of Hilti could optimize routes and thus reduce costs at the general increase in efficiency of delivery, receive detailed reports about work of drivers in real time, reveal inappropriate use of transport and also if necessary quickly adjust its route. Besides, SMS informing clients on change of planned delivery time and report generation in the form of route sheets on the template admitted to Hilti were added. Next year scaling of a system is planned for five regions of Russia.
