The ALAN IT company completed the SAM project in Vostochny Bank

Specialists ALAN IT carried out at the end of 2015 license reconciliation of the software of Microsoft - SAM Baseline Review. The project was carried out for assessment of the current scheme of licensing, identification of possible risks and also for assessment of processes of management of IT infrastructure of the organization in general. Feature of this project is regionally the distributed infrastructure of jobs, their total quantity makes about 6 thousand. At the same time the complexity of the project is connected with the fact that during the period from 2013 to 2015 the Bank implemented a number of actions which led to high-quality and quantitative change of IT architecture.

The architecture of information systems of PJSC CB Vostochny is centralized and is placed in the Center to data processing. As the tool on collecting and data validation Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit 9.2 (MAP 9.2) was selected, System Center Configuration Manager which is implemented in Vostochny Bank was also used and at that time was the key tool on management of IT infrastructure.

Within the project ALAN IT was carried out by experts the analysis of IT infrastructure of the Data processing center and also regional infrastructure of jobs.

Results of the project became:

• the prepared ALAN IT the report with exact data on the current number of servers and PC in real use;
• data on the released amount of licenses based on the optimization of IT infrastructure performed by Bank;
• recommendations about the directions of further optimization of license policy;
• the recommendations of implementation and use of solutions, licenses for which are purchased within the current agreement Enterprise Agreement.

In a project deliverable we got experience of cross application of techniques of assessment of need for program licenses and also practical experience of assessment of use of licenses for complex products and estimates of license amount in general that raised many questions and difficulties earlier. Based on the got experience of use of the SAM tools, further we plan development and deployment of internal processes of management of licensing in the company CIO of PJSC CB Vostochny Yukhnov Dmitry Sergeyevich
