Hitachi Flash Storage A series (HFS) is a data storage array on SSD drives.

On January 19, 2016 the Hitachi Data Systems company announced creation of the universal solution on a basis a flash memory - Hitachi Flash Storage.

As a part of a HFS series A pairs of high-performance controllers and up to 60 drives SSD in one body 2U high. Effective capacity up to 384 Tbyte and performance of 1 million IOPS allows to consolidate several applications to reduce the space occupied by DPC and at the same time to simplify management.

Arrays of HFS of series A suit the customers who are looking for optimal solutions for virtualization of desktops and creation of virtual servers of analytics, an environment of databases in real time.

Until recently in the market of storage systems for large and small enterprises there were no universal products on a basis a flash technologies which would be suitable for all possible options of application. Hitachi proposes a full-fledged complex of the optimized solutions on a basis a flash memory integrated by software-defined approach to the organization of infrastructure of storage. Our developments will allow customers to find such options of application of technological solutions which will meet requirements of the company and, at the same time, will give powerful opportunities of uniform management of workflows in scales of all its infrastructure.

Arrays of Hitachi Flash Storage of series A provide data protection mechanisms, in particular - instant pictures of copy-on-write, possibility of complete cloning and copying of logical volumes for reservation of data.

Mechanisms of control of QoS allow to set the maximum IOPS values and consumption of capacity on a logical volume to provide the necessary performance of applications.

As a part of Hitachi Flash Storage of series A the complex of services for work with data providing the necessary capacity of storage and providing data protection and predictable performance for the most different workloads works. The expanded set of instruments of work with data supports function of deduplication, data compression "on the fly", "thin" selection of resources, creation of instant pictures and replication. In addition, now customers will have an opportunity for the choice to involve or turn off deduplication or data compression in the line mode depending on requirements of the application that will help to combine performance and efficiency optimum.
