2016: 5 months of work in Mail.ru Group

On February 10, 2016 Mail.Ru Group announced Yury Gursky's appointment the vice president for new products. Development of messengers and navigation services of the company and also start of other new products fell within the scope of its tasks.

In July, 2016 the Mail.ru Group (MRG) holding announced Yury Gursky's dismissal. Even in the afternoon on July 29, according to Gursky, changes in his status were not, but in the evening the representative of MRG said that Gursky is dismissed because of a conflict of interest. The holding did not disclose details.

A month ago on open sources it became clear that two new products of the vice president of Mail.ru Group Yury Gursky and the ex-staff of holding, were started without MRG.

It was talked of the Prisma photoapplication, and Yury Melnichek's project (the founder of Maps.me absorbed by MRG). Mail.ru Group was left by co-founders of Maps.me Yury Melnichek, Alexander Zolotarev, Victor Govako, and Gursky said that also the Mill will support the initiative, independent of holding — the main direction of which will be use of artificial intelligence in mobile devices. A day earlier it became known that the vice president of Mail.ru Group Yury Gursky supported the author of the Prisma application. The former employee of My.com (the foreign Mail.ru Group brand) Alexey Moiseenkov wrote the photoapplication, it reached considerable popularity at once in many countries then Moiseenkov thanked Mail.ru Group and left. Mail.ru Group, after all, was succeeded to make small sums in the sensational Prisma application, but about control the speech does not go. Perhaps because of the missed possibility of full ownership of Prisma, in MRG in a month started 2 "analogs" the application at once. Prisma analog for video and the Vinci application for processing of photos through neuronets, teams of independent developers with assistance of VKontakte (social network in the property of Mail.ru Group)[1].
