Alan IT optimized the IT infrastructure of the Crystal production association through the introduction of the tools of the System Center line - Configuration Manager and Operations Manager.
Kristall software specializes in the mass production of premium diamonds. The company's infrastructure includes about 500 PCs and a total of 25 physical and virtual servers in the main office in Moscow and an additional one in Smolensk. The scale of Crystal's business is growing, and with it the IT infrastructure is growing. As a result, the company faced the problem of information technology management, there was a need to implement tools to reduce the workload of IT personnel.
In the first phase, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager was implemented to optimize and automate IT management. Configuration Manager has provided Crystal IT professionals with complete control over the use of software products: conducting asset analysis, software and hardware inventory, license accounting, automatic installation and updating of software and operating systems.
As a monitoring tool IT Infrastructure , Microsoft System Center Operations Manager was deployed in the next step to all servers companies and network hardware supporting SCOM protocols. OM provided the ability to automatically track all components of Crystal IT: system, Active Directory hypervisor,, Hyper-V SQL Server previously installed components of Configuration Manager, Virtual Machine Manager, servers enterprise communication systems and, Exchange Lync network equipment and a number of other components in the IT structure of the company.
"Deployed System Center components - Operation Manager and Configuration Manager - on the one hand, simplified the work of system administrators, and on the other hand, at the beginning, we have a lot of work to do to actively prepare new tools for work: now it is necessary to understand what business applications and processes at the moment need automation, deployed systems need to 'teach' all this, set up for our goals and needs. As a result of the project to implement System Center components, the process of managing the environment through a single console for a number of management tasks was simplified, the process of upgrading operating systems for the entire fleet of PCs of the company, including remote computers, was accelerated. It is possible to identify, correct, and prevent possible service outages or configuration issues, manage servers, and identify problems at an early stage. In addition, licensing policies are optimized and it is possible to create a knowledge base of problems and errors, their methods of correction and treatment.
According to Alan IT, the deployed System Center components simplified the work of system administrators and help them quickly respond to all problems and changes. This has a positive impact on the business processes of the organization as a whole: server systems and business-critical applications such as Skype for Business and e-mail run smoothly.
