The Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War purchased the planetary scanner

On December 17, 2015 the press service of ELAR company announced delivery to the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War of the Planskan ELAR planetary scanner of the A1B series.

The Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War is faced by a task to transfer paper carriers of information of archive fund to an electronic form. For these purposes the museum purchased the Planskan ELAR scanner of the A1B series.

Project Progress

Using the planetary scanner the staff of the museum should scan independently about 100 thousand newspapers of the 1930-1950th, to transfer to an electronic form of graphics, photo of military maps from archives of the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War. Digital copies with a binding to the description of museum objects will be loaded into the accounting system, optimizing work of specialists in storage and accounting of historical and cultural values. Electronic images of exhibits can be used for the edition of reprints, the organization of exposures.

ELAR Planskan of the A1B series gives opportunities of large-format and planetary scanning of any documents. On the scanner large originals are successfully transferred to an electronic form: drawings, maps, newspapers. For high-quality scanning of curved sheets, papers or the tracing-papers unrolled after long storage the flat clamping glass smoothing crumpled documents is used.
