Features of an automation object

Owing to the industry specifics JSC SOUSSE is characterized by a big geographically-distributed structure: all construction managements, construction objects and also being a part of the Plant of Construction Mixes company are located on the remote platforms which are controlled from the uniform center.

Software Selection

The choice of the software product for control automation by the enterprise was carried out during 2002. Such information systems as 1C, Parus, Galaktika, Monolith and "COMPASS" were considered. The ERP system choice "COMPASS" was predetermined by the following pacing factors:

  • full implementation of technology client-server;
  • excellent quality of standardly deliverable subsystems and possibility of their application without additional settings and adaptation;
  • openness of a system;
  • the ample opportunities of development of a system provided with the convenient three-level tool "Masters of KOMPASA": from user preferences before independent writing of SQL of requests, business procedures and modules;
  • possibilities of communication of the ERP system with a project management system.

General Description of the Project

ERP system implementation KOMPAS in JSC SOUSSE began in 2003 and was carried out by forces of the working group consisting both of consultants of KOMPAS company and of representatives of IT department of the Customer. During the course of performance the project consultants of KOMPAS company performed such works as training of staff of JSC SOUSSE, installation of a system, software commissioning, import of data from the programs which were earlier used at the enterprise, adaptation of some standardly deliverable modules to specific requirements of account policy of the Customer.

The first (main) stage of the project lasted about a year and was complete by the beginning of 2004. On the next stages expansion of functionality of a corporate information system was carried out. By January, 2005 the corporate information system covered all 12 enterprises of holding using in total 125 licenses for different modules of a complex.

Means of the ERP system "COMPASS" solve the following problems:

  • management of finance (including accounting and tax accounting);
  • unloading of tax statements in electronic form;
  • personnel management;
  • payroll;
  • complete document flow;
  • purchase management and stocks;
  • accounting of fixed assets;
  • cost management.

The further plans of the Customer are full-function implementation of a CRM subsystem "the COMPASS: Marketing and management" which should cover all managers of the top and average management; description of standard routes of document flow; implementation of the module "COMPASS: Budgeting"; full automation of work of economical department.

From a response of the Deputy finance director on information technologies of JSC SOUSSE S.M. Ivanov: With commissioning of the COMPASS system in more than 100 workplaces a common information space for the solution of different tasks of management is created. There was a possibility of the automated communication and interaction of all departments and directorates. The single system of workflow automation of the enterprise is introduced. Important characteristic of cooperation with the developer is stability and reliability of KOMPAS company, including timely support of changes in the legislation. Some Specific Features of the Project

  • All remote platforms work with the uniform DBMS which is physically located on the server of Management company of holding on the basis of "the terminal-the server" technology. A part of functionality is used on remote platforms in full, and a part – only for input of initial data. For example, in the field of accounting of work and the salary it means that on remote platforms time keeping is kept, and direct payroll is performed in the local area network of the central office of the company.
  • The specifics of construction activity assume strict accounting of all construction materials not only on separate objects, but also on each foreman with document creation on transfer of materials to construction and on return of a remaining balance. For implementation of such accounting in compliance to each responsible person the separate virtual warehouse was delivered.
  • It should be noted the large volume of works on implementation of automatic payroll – more than 120 codes of charges and deduction are configured.
  • In JSC SOUSSE the uncommon payment method of the salary was used: the payroll accrued for any month is paid only in the following. For implementation of such tactics of payments by consultants of KOMPAS company it was configured: the special code of charge "unpaid salary" on which amounts are automatically transferred to the pay-sheet of the next month.
  • For satisfaction of individual needs of the Customer regarding the production cost accounting using "The master of reports" the broad spectrum of additional report forms was created.
