Software Selection

By 2002 enterprise management was automated by the so-called "scrappy" principle.

It was for this purpose applied not integrated by software of development of different producers: 1C (payroll), "ManFi" of TIS company (accounting automation), modules of own development (fixed asset accounting, material accounting), etc. Such situation did not satisfy any more to the modern principles of the organization of a corporate information system therefore there was a question of replacement of separate software by the uniform complex which is based on developments of one producer.

The summary collective made of representatives of accounting, planning department, department of supply, personnel department and service ACS carried out the analysis of such software packages as Parus, Galaktika, "COMPASS", developments of several franchisees of 1C company. When choosing were considered:

  • functionality of modules;
  • experience in the market of supplier company of the solution;
  • possibility of software configuration by forces of service ACS JSC Pskovenergo;
  • moderate price policy;
  • the used DBMS.

The main argument for benefit of the ERP system choice "COMPASS" good opportunities of software configuration served as own forces other things being equal.

General Description of the Project

In the I quarter 2002 consultants of KOMPAS company carried out express inspection business – processes of JSC Pskovenergo of which determination of the necessary nomenclature of the modules ERP systems KOMPAS, drawing up the indicative plan of implementation and the list of necessary settings was result.

After that all project on software implementation was performed by own forces of the staff of service ACS JSC Pskovenergo (with assistance of "hot line" of the developer) who underwent preliminary training at the territory of KOMPAS company, and then trained employees of other divisions of joint stock company. System implementation was performed step by step. At the first stage (2002) based on "COMPASS" services of management of JSC Pskovenergo were automated. In addition, creation of standard software configuration which on the next stages was replicated in branches of the company was result of end of a stage.

At the second stage (2003) system implementation in the Central and Northern branches of the electric networks is performed.

At the third stage (the end of 2004 - 2005) a system is implemented in East, Western and Southern branches.

Upon termination of automation of all branches at the client more than 250 licenses for such modules the ERP systems as were used:

  • Management of finance;
  • "Electronic tax and accounting records";
  • "Document flow";
  • "Payroll";
  • "Charge on cash cards";
  • "Electronic individual data for PF and FTS";
  • "Registration of personnel";
  • "Purchase management, stocks and sales";
  • "Fixed assets";
  • "Cost management".

From a response of the Deputy CEO on finance of JSC Pskovenergo E.G. Isaeva: ... As a result of full-function system implementation "COMPASS" time for accomplishment of routine transactions was reduced, interaction of different divisions improved, double entry of information was excluded that allowed to minimize quantity of errors, the transparency and efficiency of accounting increased. A register of agreements, the cost accounting according to budget items is maintained. Work with debtors/creditors is improved that led to increase in equity turnover of the company. One of painful questions in JSC Pskovenergo is material accounting on repair and reconstruction of transmission lines and substations. Software implementation "COMPASS" in all branches allowed to improve control of use of materials...

Some Specific Features of the Project

  • One of features of project implementation was creation at the first stage of the standard COMPASS Enterprise resource planning setup which on the next stages was replicated in branches of the company.
  • Integration of the COMPASS system into the program of accounting of tax payments is carried out.
  • The openness of the ERP system "COMPASS" allowed service ACS JSC Pskovenergo to develop the system of reports which will organize access through the internal Web server to such documents as the list of payments, information on warehouses, accounting of traveling expenses, the register of agreements. It allowed to unload completely workers of accounting from providing references to other services. All data come directly from tables DB of "COMPASS".
  • Functions of tracking of limits of traveling expenses are implemented.
  • Automatic salary transfer of employees on cash cards is implemented.
  • Using a subsystem "COMPASS: Purchase management, stocks and sales" organize accurate control of use of the materials and component parts used for laying of networks and repair of the equipment.
