MEI purchased the SKALA-R computing platform

On April 14, 2016 the IBS company announced delivery of the Russian SKALA-R convergent computing platform by request of Moscow Power Engineering Institute (NIU "MEI").

By request of NIU "MEI" the module SKALA-R of universal series 300 is delivered.

Project Tasks

According to requirements of the customer, the hardware and software system for deployment of an analytical system should be created on servers of the Russian production and be delivered by single solution, including the principal components of a cloud data processing center (servers, storage systems and backup, network switches, software of virtualization and management, the UPS, etc.) integrated and tested jointly.

Domestic development of SKALA-R – the convergent computing platform created on the basis of components of domestic production. A system is delivered by the ready-made solution as a part of which standard modules are previously installed and configured. Advantage of such approach, according to partners in the project - in a possibility of start and the beginning of operation of a system immediately after delivery, horizontal scaling of a complex in process of emergence of additional requirements for computing power and additional capacity of data storage.

Project Progress

Deliverable NIU MEI a configuration – series 300 SKALA-R based on five server nodes of a form factor 2U. As a part of the solution:

Upon the demand of the customer the disk subsystem of a complex is optimized for work with the high-loaded database management system. For increase in fault tolerance the complex is completed with duplicate system of uninterrupted power of the increased capacity providing correct shutdown of the SKALA-R complex in case of the termination of a power supply in network of power supply.

The IBS company should provide warranty service and technical support in the mode of "one window" for all components of a complex, training of IT specialists of the customer.
