Softline booked audit of electronic document management of the Ural aircraft factory

Softline booked audit of an electronic document management system at Ural Civil Aviation Works. As a result the enterprise received a detailed report about a status of crucial elements of EDMS and the recommendation for increase in operability of a system.

JSC Ural Civil Aviation Works – one of the largest air repair shops specializing in maintenance of power units for helicopters of development of design office JSC Kamov and Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant. About 2 thousand specialists work at Ural Civil Aviation Works, more than 200 companies use its services.

At the enterprise the electronic document management system (EDMS) based on the solution Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 is used. Among malfunctions the personnel of the plant noted: not preserving of cards of documents; their slow opening at simultaneous operation of several operators; errors of adding of files with similar names. With respect thereto "Ural Civil Aviation Works" needed expert evaluation of correctness of system operation of electronic document management and the advisory help with further elimination of the reason of failures. As the IT partner the Softline company having extensive examination according to solutions of Microsoft and in the field of rendering consulting services was selected.

Specialists of Softline offered the customer complex audit which will help to define as far as resources and a configuration of the MS SharePoint Foundation 2010 servers correspond to the available scenarios of work of users and as it is possible to increase performance of numerous solutions in its structure.

During the project interviewing of key users of a system was carried out, basic scenarios of use of the functional module are selected. After that specialists of Softline checked the following components of IT infrastructure: servers (the conclusion that a system does not need additional hardware resources was made); The MS SQL Server (recommendations about tuning are made and performance measures of the equipment and its elements are estimated); SharePoint and configurations of applications services (recommendations about making changes in settings of parameters are made). Besides, the developments executed within several last years by different groups of specialists for documentation, identification of the conflicts and their influence on performance of work of EDMS were checked.

As a result of work which will are carried out on the basis of the recommendations created according to the results of audit can increase performance of EDMS of the customer to 70%.
