Content

On June 8, 2016 the Honeywell company announced implementing solution of Honeywell of APC in a management structure production of Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayii A company. Ş.

Project Tasks

The company began expansion of business due to increase in efficiency and optimization of work of own thermal power plant.

The decision on the choice of Honeywell for implementation of this project was made as a matter of experience corporations in the field of advanced management of technology processes (APC). In  2011 Aksa cooperated with Honeywell within an APC system implementation project on installation of recuperation of flying solvents.

In that project the application of Honeywell of APC was installed together with software of Honeywell Profit Suite on the APC server connected to network of management of the plant.

The application solved the main objectives:

  • reduction of steam consumption,
  • observance of quality requirements and stabilization of work of installation.

Project Progress

Project objective in increase in profitability of operation of own thermal power plant of Aksa company due to implementation of technologies from a packet of advanced solutions for power (AES).

Plans and expectations from project implementation:

possibility of replacement of expensive gas with cheaper coal due to optimization and improvement of management of burning in a boiler; system implementation of advanced management of burning (ACC) in the coal boiler B1 for reduction of a consumption of natural gas, stability augmentation of burning and reduction of losses in chimneys; system implementation of advanced management of temperature (ATC) in the boiler B1 for increase in efficiency of a circuit "the boiler  —  the turbine"; system implementation of advanced management for selective catalytic neutralization of nitrogen oxides in the boilers B1 and B2 with the purpose to stabilize emissions of NOx and to reduce an ammonia consumption; implementation of the main management system for pressure and optimization of steam network for stabilization of steam network and cutting of costs for production for the appropriation account of steam via steam turbines instead of pressure decrease valves; system implementation of target optimization for protection of transmission control of power on the intersystem line.

Project Results

Implementing solutions of advanced process management provided to the customer:

  • increase in efficiency of boilers and expansion of operating range of turbines;
  • increase in overall effectiveness of thermal power plant;
  • reduction of operating costs and expenses on fuel;
  • increase in efficiency of process of burning in boilers and expansion of their operating range;
  • increase in efficiency of a circuit "the boiler  —  the turbine";
  • optimization of work of steam network for increase in profitability;
  • decrease in emissions of combustion gases and more strict observance of regulations on emissions of NOx and CO;
  • process optimization of burning with the subsequent increase in development of electrical and thermal energy;
  • optimization of distribution of a set of loadings;
  • optimization of transitional statuses (dynamic regulation, improvement of a response to transitional changes when switching loadings);
  • improvement of operational forecasting, optimization and observance of terms of the contract on development and electricity consumption.

It was expected that profit on implementing solution of Honeywell of APC will reach $640 thousand a year. The actual profit was more than $2 million a year.
