Trend Micro vCPE is the virtualized subscriber equipment (virtualized Customer Premise Equipment).
On June 10, 2016 the companies Trend Micro also NXP Semiconductors N.V provided results of the joint project which task – creation of the virtualized subscriber's equipment on the NXP platform for virtualization of network functions (Network Function Virtualization, NFV) on a basis ARM- processors[1].
Within the project the solution vCPE of Trend Micro for network protection with support of Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) technology and the NXP LS2085A processor is presented.
The technology of Trend Micro DPI provides network protection and control functions:
- virtual patching,
- parental control
- service quality (QoS).
DPI is used in different products – from home routers to corporate systems of an intrusion prevention (IPS) and firewalls of new generation (NGFW).
