In requirements to antiviruses it is told that they should be compatible to different versions of operating systems Microsoft Windows and Linux (RedHat Fedora CentOS SUSE Debian Mandriva Ubuntu "Aster") and also MacOS, Android and iOS.
In addition to general requirements about what functions should provide anti-virus products, the document contains the special requirement which says the following:
The new software products (antivirus software) developed and compatible to the software, hardware and software systems to processors Baikal-T1, Elbrus-4s, etc. during action of warranty obligations are provided to the Customer by official request of the customer representative without increase in the price of the contract, said in the tender documentation. |
Evgenia Naumova, the chief of the department of corporate sales in Russia Kaspersky Lab told TAdviser that as of the middle of 2016 products of the company are not compatible to platforms on Baikal and Elbrus processors owing to their small distribution, however Kaspersky Lab conducts active work on compatibility of the products with all modern platforms within import substitution.
Based on these processors absolutely new hardware platform is created. Respectively, for ensuring work of antivirus software at it it is necessary to adapt a system core - the anti-virus engine - for this new platform and to provide further support, it is a resource-intensive task, - noted in a conversation with Naumov's TAdviser. |
In T-Platforms where Baikal Electronics developing Baikal processors enters, and MCST developing Elbrus did not comment on an opportunity for work of an antivirus of Kaspersky on computers with the processors. On the website of MCST there is information[2] about availability of technology of dynamic binary translation as a part of the general software Elbrus which allows to start applications for x86 platform on computers with this processor.
Earlier TAdviser announced the interest of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Baikal and Elbrus processors.
