"A meadowsweet the Terminal" from the preset Viola Workstation OS

On December 17, 2018 "BaseALT" reported that together with "T-Platforms" signed computers the delivery agreement "Meadowsweet Terminal" with preset OS "Viola Workstation". Purchasing computers, consumers will be able quickly to unroll the ready workplace equipped with the operating system and a big set of office software.

ADP equipment of the Meadowsweet Terminal series is made by T-Platforms company based on the Russian Baikal T processor with architecture of MIPS. Depending on a configuration, computers can be used or as the energy efficient workstation, or as "thin client" in the terminal mode. Devices are intended, first of all, for corporate customers for whom domestic solutions with the high level of protection are necessary.

For equipment of devices "Meadowsweet Terminal" the BaseALT company created the special OS ALT distribution kit which works in the main (native) mode of the processor. It provides the high performance and reliability of OS. The distribution kit includes the operating system and a set of the office software for a full-fledged work: editors of the text, tables, the presentations, diagrams and video, means for scanning of documents, the web browser, the email application, etc. The ALT distribution kits are created based on a domestic repository Sisyphus which provides support of almost unlimited lifecycle of operating systems. In addition to storage of software packages, the repository contains original domestic infrastructure of development which allows to collect at the same time distribution kits under different hardware platforms.

The Russian organizations need the integrated jobs constructed on ADP equipment and software of the Russian production. We are going to keep further development of operating systems for computing devices of T-Platforms company based on Baikal T processors. Testing of solutions of BARS GROUP based on "the Meadowsweet Terminal 2BT1"

On August 8, 2018 it became known that "BARS GROUP", the subsidiary company National Center of Informatization, and the joint-stock company T-Platforms tested technology interaction of the solutions. BARS GROUP approved work of systems on personal computer domestic production based on processor Baikal-T1.

Tests showed that computers "Meadowsweet Terminal 2BT1" correspond on characteristics for implementing solutions of BARS GROUP and can be used as web clients for remote access to such systems as Budget planning, "Budget painting", Property management, Construction management, etc.

Now within development of import substitution in the state customers who already work on computers T-Platforms or are going them to buy, there was an opportunity to use a number of complete solutions based on platforms of BARS GROUP which together with domestic "iron" will help to automate standard business processes. Complex testing of compatibility of products T-Platforms will allow our customers to be sure that the existing and again purchased products will work with the expected result — the deputy CEO of BARS GROUP Anatoly Mladshev said.

Tests took place under operating system Debian Linux management 8, using web browser Chromium and a plug-in Crypto Pro EDS — it allowed to test all softwares, necessary for work, and ensuring the legal importance of actions of users components.

The safe basic automated workplace

The group of the Russian software developers and ADP equipment in structure T-Platforms, New cloud technologies, Rusbitech, Infotecs, Crypto Pro and Phoenix created the automated workplace which differs in the high level of information security. First of all, the solution is focused on use in government institutions and also in the business companies imposing high requirements to the level of information protection reported on July 30, 2018 in T-Platforms.

The hardware is the terminal device "Meadowsweet Terminal 2BT1" in Mini ITX form factor. "The meadowsweet Terminal 2BT-1" is the Russian development based on the domestic processor Baikal-T1, provides the high level of security, differs in simplicity of installation, connection and allows to create solutions for equipment of jobs. The monitor, the keyboard and a mouse (wire USB/wireless) also is a part of a set.

As noted, the packet of the preset software of an automated workplace includes the following products of the Russian developers:

• OS Astra Linux Special Edition (Rusbitech) — includes all necessary components (DBMS means e-mail, web technologies, office means, etc.), necessary for automation of daily activity of the ministries, departments, public authorities, etc. Provides application of the patented domestic means data protection. FSTEC Russia, Ministries of Defence and FSB Russia is certified.
• "My Office Standard" (New cloud technologies) — the Russian packet of office applications for work in the state organizations and commercial enterprises. The full range of programs for work with text documents and spreadsheets, demonstrations of the presentations is a part of a product. "MyOffice" it is certified by FSTEC of Russia, enters the register of domestic software and completely meets requirements of government decree 325 "About additional requirements to office software".
• The designer of the protected ViPNet Client networks — the domestic software package intended for protection of jobs of corporate users. Protects from external and internal network attacks due to traffic filtering, ensures the protected functioning with corporate data through encrypted link, including for remote users. It is entered in "The unified register of notifications about characteristics of cryptographic (cryptographic) tools and goods, them containing".
• The CryptoPro CSP cryptoprovider — Russian software, provides the base for work with cryptographic functions, including for solving of tasks of the electronic signature and verification of files. Are in addition delivered: means of use by cryptographic functions from the browser — Crypto Pro of the EDS of Browser plug-in and the client for the high-performance VPN gateway — Crypto Pro of NGate Client.

The maximum cost of such basic automated workplace will not exceed 79 thousand rubles. The price varies depending on order size and needs of the specific customer, specified in T-Platforms.

The automated workplace "Meadowsweet Terminal 2BT-1" can work via secure channels with specialized solutions of the company Phoenix (Fenix) for the automated information systems (AIS) of public services, in particular, for offices "My Documents" (MFC).

It is supposed that the initial structure of group will constantly extend at the expense of new participants whose software products will add the available workplace complete set. In the nearest future such products can become the browser Sputnik.

The automated workplace offered complex "the Meadowsweet Terminal 2BT-1" can become a basis of the unified workplace of government employees and will allow to solve a broad spectrum of practical tasks of public authorities not only regarding execution of the plan for import substitution, but also regarding providing the high level of information security, representatives of T-Platforms company consider.

2017: "MyOffice" will appear on "A meadowsweet the terminal"

The desktop version of a packet of office programs "My Office" will be supported by the workstations "Meadowsweet Terminal" created based on the Russian Baikal-T1 processors. New cloud technologies company, the developer of a packet My office, and the T-Platforms company which created "A meadowsweet the terminal" signed the relevant agreement on technology partnership.

The packet of "MyOffice Standard" capable to work on "A meadowsweet the terminal" will begin to extend through a partner network My office since the beginning of 2018. The packet gives the chance to create and edit documents, tables, the presentations and also to manage mail. It allows to work with popular file formats like DOCX, XLSX and PPTX. Let's combine with different OS, including Windows and Linux.

According to the companies, the joint product is intended for clients both from commercial, and from public sector. In particular, it is expected customers with increased requirements to information security and independence of infrastructure. Adaptation of a packet My office to architecture Baikal-T1 will give the chance at the same time to use domestic office software, a domestic hardware platform and OS open source.

2016: A monoblock "A meadowsweet the terminal" on the Baikal processor

On February 25, 2016 the T-Platforms company announced release of the Meadowsweet Terminal PC - the personal computer on the basis of Baikal processors^[1].

"Meadowsweet terminal" (2015)

The processor of this model uses the architecture of MIPS (engl. Microprocessor without Interlocked Pipeline Stages) developed according to the concept of RISC (processors with abbreviated call of commands).

The Baikal processor is integrated into a monoblock Meadowsweet with the enhanced capabilities for data protection which are earlier implemented on Intel processors.

The device can be used as the workstation running Linux Debian OS 8 or as "thin client" in the terminal mode. In the first option the computer can be equipped with any compatible to Linux application programs LibreOffice, it seems, the browser Firefox , etc. In other case ensuring remote access to any applications by means of the web browser or using remote desktop protocols is possible: RDP or VNC.

Production of processor modules for mass batches of a monoblock, as well as motherboards - Russia. Delivery of mechanical components is expected from Southeast Asia. Assembly will be executed at the Russian enterprises.

In 2016 T-Platforms intend to release modification of the device in the compact desktop body without the built-in screen.

T-Platforms position "A meadowsweet the terminal" as "the last mile" between IT infrastructure and the end user for the organizations and bodies of a public sector, the corporate customers preferring domestic solutions and imposing high requirements to data security.

As a part of the device:

• two ports Gigabit Ethernet,
• the hardware support of virtualization implemented in a core of the Baikal-T1 processor

They allow to be connected at the same time to two independent local networks and to work with several isolated OS copies. The producer considers that it is possible to these to provide protection of internal network of the enterprise against the attacks from the Internet.

Baikal-T1 processors have the hardware accelerator of support of GOST 28147-89 (Magma; the Soviet and Russian standard describing a method when the same cryptographic key is applied to enciphering and deciphering) and are compatible to the cryptographic software and hardware tools certified in Russia.

Developers announced use of the motherboard developed under the processor module SF-BT1, change of some mechanical components, processing of the cooling system.

The beginning of deliveries of a product is planned for the second quarter 2016. The first batch about one thousand products. The company announced study of contracts "on essential supply rates", hinting at waiting by customers of a product since 2015.

For small batches cost of one device ~ 69 thousand rubles. Cost as a part of large parties will separately make a reservation.
