The Crimean federal university scans archives

ELAR corporation delivered two complexes of planetary scanning of ELAR Planskan S-600 in the Crimean federal university of V.I. Vernadsky.

In the largest university of the Republic of Crimea (8 academies and institutes, 5 colleges and the centers, 11 branches across all Crimea and 7 scientific organizations) the Scientific library with the richest book fund educational, scientific and fiction works. Digitization of editions will allow to create new electronic educational resources at the university.

"Using scanners the digital collection "Book monuments of 17-19 centuries will be created. KFU scientific library of V.I. Vernadsky", insurance fund of department of rare books and manuscripts", - Marina Kalmykova, the associate director of library on scientific work told. Besides, according to her, on scanners the editions which are in the increased demand for readers, but available in library in a limited number will be transferred to an electronic form.

When scanning on ELAR Planskan of S-600 of the book are not exposed to mechanical influence that guarantees their safety. The book cradle of the scanner allows to digitize qualitatively books of different thickness and the stitched documents without causing damage to originals. "In addition to these features of the scanner, the major for each library, ELAR Planskan of S-600 is inherent high performance, - the deputy manager of department on work with libraries and universities of ELAR corporation Vadim Andrenyuk noted. – Mainly on such equipment scanning of documents and books when implementing large-scale library projects is carried out".
