Technoserv constructed in Novosibirsk DPC for FMS of Russia

In July, 2016 Technoserv announced end of the complex project on creation of a segment of the federal Data Processing Center (DPC) for the Office of the Federal Migration Service of Russia across the Novosibirsk region.

In commercial operation of FMS of Russia there are several tens of critical IT services with the round-the-clock mode of operation. Besides, the amount of data which are processed and stored by department annually increases. It requires special approach to reservation of infrastructure, advance works on increase in capacity and performance of storage systems and reservation of data. A core of IT infrastructure of department is the federal Data processing center located in Moscow. The Novosibirsk data center is urged to increase significantly fault tolerance of critical IT services of all system in general and also to ensure smooth operation of departmental bases of FMS of Russia from the Urals to the Far East.

Deployment of technical base which will allow became a main objective of creation of a segment of federal DPC of FMS:

• increase fault tolerance and disaster tolerance of the operated information systems of the main DPC of FMS in Moscow and also will simplify implementation of new information systems;
• provide a possibility of redistribution of loading between capacities of the main DPC and a new segment of federal DPC in the automatic or manual modes;
• unroll in new DPC the system landscapes necessary for ensuring migration of the information systems operated in the main DPC on failsafe configurations.

Within the project Technoserv executed a full range of works: from design of an object, an overhaul and upgrade of the premises intended for placement of DPC before delivery, installation and a commissioning of engineering and computing infrastructure of DPC of FMS of Russia. The project deadline made 8 months.

The two-storeyed building is equipped with all necessary specialized systems required for uninterrupted operation of functioning of DPC: the guaranteed and uninterrupted power, a conditioning system and ventilation, a monitoring system and managements of the engineering systems and also systems of gas fire extinguishing, video surveillance, access control and others. The DPC is expected work in mode 24х7х365. The systems of engineering support are executed according to the scheme of reservation not below N+1 that provided necessary stability of work of DPC. The general capacity of storage systems of DPC was more than 5 PBytes.

During creation of an object domestic components, including computing powers, the DBMS servers and applications, tape library, servers of a backup system, optical multiplexers, a storage system, network infrastructure, cryptoprotection were most used. In total in the project the equipment more than 20 Russian hi-tech companies was used.

The Segment of federal DPC is arranged by the principle of smooth surface and created for storage of big arrays of information, ensuring its integrity and safety, allowing to protect from loss or distortion, – Andrey Bogomolov, the vice president for sales to Technoserv company tells. – In the long term, when the new DPC will start working to the full extent, in case of force majeur circumstances, the data center created in Novosibirsk, within an hour will be able to assume completely loading and to provide access to departmental information resources for all regions of the Russian Federation".
