The archive of the newspaper of the First St. Petersburg medical university is digitized

ELAR corporation digitized the issues of the Puls newspaper published by the First St. Petersburg state medical university of the academician I.P. Pavlov (SPBGMU).

In 2017 the First St. Petersburg state medical university of the academician I.P. Pavlov celebrates hundred twenty years from the date of the basis. Own newspaper began to be issued regularly in university since 1928, and today Pulse is an important source of a detailed information about the history of the university. In a digital form of issue of the edition will be available to acquaintance and studying on portal SPBGMU.

"We transferred about 5000 pages to an electronic form. In an array are available, including the first issues of the Puls newspaper dated the first third of the last century, - the expert of ELAR corporation in work with libraries and universities Grigory Yevstigneyev tells. – Editions were scanned without lacing on professional scanners of the ELAR Planskan brand. Digitization on this equipment does not harm originals thanks to a contactless method of scanning, lack of ultra-violet and infrared radiations".

On the basis of graphic images of the newspapers received as a result of scanning, specialists of production management of ELAR create the PDF files with releases in a year and with tabs on each release. Files in the PDF format have a substrate from automatically recognized text that allows to perform search in texts of all annual releases. In it, a format of submission of editions in electronic form most convenient today, issues of the Puls newspaper will be posted on website SPBGMU.
