Content

2017: Testing of the solution based on EME.WMS and Panasonic Toughpad

On September 21, 2017 the companies Panasonic also EME announced testing of the joint solution for management of a warehouse based on the EME.WMS systems and the handheld protected Panasonic Toughpad FZ-N1 business tablet on OS Android 5.5.1. Testing took place in a distributive warehouse of Superveyv Group company within the program of transition to the latest version of EME.WMS designed to optimize work of warehouse personnel.[1]

Toughpad FZ-N1

Within the strategic project on upgrade of a data collection system on replacement to outdated traditional terminals with the company completely protected handheld Toughpad FZ-N1 tablets from Panasonic based on Android 5.1.1 were selected. These 4.7-inch models combine the small weight, high performance and reliability (protection of IP67, the MIL-STD 810G standard). In devices quad-core processors of Qualcomm of MSM8974AB 2,3 GHz are used, data transmission is performed on technology 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, there are also a microUSB port and the connector for connection of a docking station. In tablets there are readers of barcodes 1D/2D located at an angle on the back panel. Thanks to them it is not necessary for users any more as in a case with traditional linear readers to turn the device before scanning, straining elbows or wrists.

Project Progress

According to EME, the version of EME.WMS to which the distributive warehouse of Superveyv Group is transferred is specially developed for OS Android 5.5.1 and adapted for Panasonic. Being integrated into a single information network of the enterprise and integrated to ERP, a system allows to increase loading of warehouse, in real time obtaining exact data on stock balance and employment of personnel and also to minimize errors at assembly of orders.

The EME company optimized software under the modern screen with the big display, performed migration of the module on the updated hardware platform and configured additional functionality of a system according to requirements of the customer. Now the EME.WMS application with a high speed contacts the working server and maintains complete functionality of warehouse activity (inventory, assembly of orders, arrivals, internal transfers, control and packaging of the shipped products, loading in the machine). Based on testing of the solution in a warehouse representatives of Superveyv Group predict performance improvement of operators of a warehouse for 20%.

Experience of testing of the tablet showed its higher ergonomics in work in comparison with the radio terminals used in our organization. The device conveniently lies in a hand thanks to rather small weight and the sizes. Built-in scanner reads out barcodes much quicker, for reading hard to read barcodes it is possible to use the camera with the resolution of 8 MT that increases functionality of the operator and reduces operating time in conditions when there are errors when scanning. The possibility of installation on the tablet of the additional applications necessary for accomplishment of necessary tasks (an e-mail client, the camera, internet-browser etc.), increases mobility and considerably expands functionality of the operator of the device — Alexey Anisimov, the senior operator of SK noted the Terminal of Superveyv Group company.

2011: Automation of a warehouse in the Leningrad Region

In December, 2011 the warehouse complex in the Leningrad Region, settlement was automated. The red Dawn with a total area more than 5000 sq.m. by means of the professional version of EME.WMS 3.5. with module 3PL.

During implementation it was carried out a number of developments, specific to this area, including acceptance of packages (shipping), the picker's module, group placement of goods at arrival.

In this project integration into Microsoft Dynamics AX through an intermediate SQL database server is implemented.
