2016: Providing communication channels for the data network

As a result of the victory in the open tender, TransTeleCom entered into an agreement in the summer of 2016 for the provision of services for the organization and provision of communication channels for the data transmission network of Russian Railways. The contract is designed for two years, the total cost of services will be 200 million rubles.

TransTeleCom will provide Russian Railways with 125 communication channels between data network nodes in Moscow, St. Petersburg and 51 regions of Russia, including the organization of the "last mile." Guaranteed bandwidth depending on the region will be from 2 to 500 Mbps. The channels provided by TransTeleCom will be used to ensure trouble-free operation of existing information systems and video conferencing in branches of Russian Railways.

TransTeleCom took part in the Reconstruction and Development of the Moscow Central Ring (MCC) project. TransTeleCom organized at the Moscow Central Ring a modern reliable digital communication system for electric train drivers with dispatchers based on GSM-R technology and general technological communication for Russian Railways. Within the framework of the project, TransTeleCom acts as a universal integrator for construction and installation work and commissioning of communication equipment.

The network, created using GSM-R technology on the Moscow Central Ring, covered 12 railway stations. TransTeleCom also provided special communication in the technically complex Gagarin tunnel, the only tunnel on the MCC. In total, as part of the project, TransTeleCom launched 22 base stations using GSM-R technology.

The technology of radio communication organization and GSM-R train traffic control systems (GSM-Railway) is specially developed for railways based on the GSM mobile radio communication standard. The technology is a standard solution in the field of wireless communication for railway transport in Europe and serves as a safe platform for providing voice communication and data transmission for railway employees: drivers, dispatchers, shunting group employees, train escort specialists, station chiefs.

GSM-R technology provides uninterrupted communication at speeds up to 500 km/h, allows you to organize group calls, voice broadcasting, connection with a subscriber taking into account his location, release the line for urgent calls. These and other features greatly improve the quality of communications and provide ample opportunities for collaboration and management of train and personnel safety.
