NPF Budushchee completed creation of DPC

On August 9, 2016 the I-Teco company and NPF Budushchee announced completion of construction and commissioning of a data processing center of fund on the platform of the equipment and the software of IBM.

Project Tasks

Need for the developed infrastructure arose in connection with the increased business needs of NPF Budushchee: in June, 2015 process of consolidation of fund began with NPF Stalfond, as a result the number of clients of fund grew by 1.3 million people. The previous infrastructure did not consider such dynamics and at the time of consolidation reached the peak capacities, morally and physically becoming outdated, did not give a necessary opportunity of reservation of critical data.

Project Progress

Development, design, equipment installation, commissioning and data migration in data center of the pension fund were conducted step by step during the second half of 2015 by through joint efforts of engineers of fund and I-Teco.

The created DPC of NPF Budushchee answers business challenges of the joint fund:

• considers the predicted growth of requirements of the company,
• it is easily scaled,
• gives an opportunity of reservation of crucial data, their disaster recovery for ensuring business continuity.

The created IT infrastructure is adapted to growth of number of servers twice, on the operating platform that blocks needs of the customer for the next three years.

A failsafe system is created on the IBM Pure Flex platform and completely conforms to security requirements, reliability and the increased requirements of fund. Among its main advantages – a possibility of creation of uniform command center, monitoring and administration of physical and virtual resources.

The storage system of IBM Storewize V7000 provides:

• compression of disk space and automatic distribution of data between fast and slow disks depending on requirements;
• connectivity of DWH of other producers with an option of centralized operation via the general console;
• data protection for ensuring business continuity and their disaster recovery with function of creation of pictures.

Project Results

The joint project with I-Teco company – an example of construction of DPC from scratch under problems of one of the largest NPFs created based on two pension funds with absolutely different IT platforms. The strategy of fund provides further development, and accounting of requirements of growth of the company at a design stage of DPC allowed us to optimize significantly investments into IT infrastructure and to provide to business of the company modern and effective program maintenance. Starting project implementation, we understood what tasks face our command and as they influence business of fund. It was important to design and implement on rather small platform of DPC of NPF the solution promoting cost reduction of fund on the maintenance of all technology complex in a short time and with project budget optimization. This success story became possible, first of all, thanks to harmonious team work and active aspiration to achievement of the goal of specialists of the pension fund, I-Teco and IBM.
