In a warehouse of Terminal 17 3PL-operator InStock WMS is implemented

The Terminal 17 company provides services of safe custody. In a warehouse of the company work is organized first of all proceeding from use of different options of deliveries as 'on arrival' goods from the western and northwest borders of the Customs Union on the terminal for distribution to Moscow, and options of sending goods to regions of Russia and other member states of the Customs Union.

In plans of the company there was an active development as 3PL-operator and therefore WMS capable to work with the most different goods was required. At the time of the beginning of implementation the company already used WMS of other producer, however was not satisfied with its work therefore the decision on change of supplier of technology was made. From new WMS waited for an opportunity for work with any goods and requirements of potential clients.

As a result of the held tender a choice was made for benefit of the InStock WMS system of InStock Technologies company.

In a warehouse of safe custody of goods the company adapts and implements technologies of the client with remote control and management of a trade inventory. The warehouse is expected 13000 pallets, including using narrow-passage technology, floor storage and stacking.

For implementation at first all-warehouse tunings were performed, and a transfer of clients from old WMS in new began to be made then. The existing clients were connected in InStock WMS in turn, at the expense of it work of a warehouse went without stops. At the time of implementation Terminal-17 had 6 clients with different features of a tovaroobrabotka that included including lot-based accounting, work with oversized goods. Tunings for the first client were performed by the staff of InStock, the subsequent already employees of Terminal-17 with assistance of consultants of InStock according to a project format.

The first client was translated under management of InStock WMS in 20 days after start of the project.

The special functionality of restriction of actions of employees not on zones, and on equipment types was developed for the Terminal-17 project. At registration in a system by the user specified the equipment on which he was going to work, and further he received tasks which can be executed on the selected equipment. It was important as the company uses both narrow-passage, and shirokoprokhodny technology, but at the same time all drivers of the equipment are universal, i.e. should have an opportunity to perform any tasks. In addition to it the functionality of automatic blocking of zones in which employees already work was developed not to allow simultaneous issue of tasks to several employees in racks with narrow pass.

As a result of InStock WMS implementation the Terminal-17 company had an opportunity to work with any bailors and to keep detailed account of all transactions and the provided services.

For half a year of work with InStock WMS in Terminal-17 the number of clients doubled, and connection of new bailors in a system took place every time in very short time – 1-2 working days. It is very important for the 3PL-operator since often he has no opportunity to obtain the complete information about features of work with goods of the client in advance.
